"I've used The Dump Guy twice now. This last time, I needed our basement cleaned out so we could have a leaking oil tank removed. They gave us an estimate of $1,500 and came out the same week. I know the job was bigger than they expected but the crew stayed at it. Among other things, they hauled out an old stand-up freezer and two large, metal desks. When they were done, I asked how much I owed them and Jason stuck to the estimate. I'll definitely hire The Dump Guy again because they are reliable, honest, and easy to work with."

"If you have been online for long hours looking for a clean and efficient mover, then I have come with good news. Moving APT is what you need to contact right now. I wish someone told me about them earlier since I had spent many hours researching. They were in charge of my relocation to the city early this month, and they were thorough in their operation. The safety of my belongings was guaranteed, and nothing got damaged. You need to try them too. They are simply awesome."

"I had a Groupon for 1000 sq. ft. of driveway sealing.  I have about 2000 sq. ft.  I bought the Groupon and called, and I was told it would be another $170, so I wanted to set the appointment.  It actually took a year to get done, as he had too many Groupon customers and was giving scheduling preference to his existing client base.  Once we had the appointment, they arrived on time, could not have been more pleasant, did a great job, and left the area spotless.

"Provider first promised a date in early September, so we removed everything in the area in preparation. Provider did not show up and did not contact me. I tried to reach them for about a week. Finally they gave us a another date several weeks later. No one arrived that day. The next day a painter came mid-day and stayed less than two hours; one of the men spent most of his time holding the ladder for the second man. They were not from Marshall Home Pros but were subcontractors brought in because Marshall was too busy. They appeared to be guest workers. Work progressed slowly until we made private arrangements for them to spend extra time to complete the job. At that point four painters showed up and did a good, thorough job. I have no fault with the men who actually did the painting, but Marshall Home Pros were not pros in customer relations. And I cannot speak to the job Marshall would have done, since they never showed up nor communicated with us."

Garbage Removal questions, answered by experts

These appliances do unscrew, but you need to disconnect everything properly when you replace your garbage disposal. Make sure you shut the power off to the area first and check that it’s off with a voltage detector. Disconnect the main drain line and P-trap, and then disconnect the dishwasher drain line if you have one connected. You can then unscrew your garbage disposal using a disposal wrench. Just make sure you disconnect the electrical lines before removing your appliance.

Soil is just one of the items you shouldn't put down a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals are only meant for soft, non-fibrous foods. Large amounts of topsoil, dirt, or rocks will damage the blades of your garbage disposal or clog the pipes. If a small amount of dirt goes down the drain as you repot a plant, you shouldn't have to worry, but never dump a whole pot of soil in the sink for fast disposal.

Your garbage disposal is not draining because it might have a clog due to food waste, a foreign object, grease, oil, fat, or it may have a broken motor. When water doesn't flush out of the disposal, that's a key sign that your disposal has a clog or needs repair.

Your garbage disposal will only affect the health of your septic tank if you’re using it too frequently, or filling it with organic waste that doesn’t fully break down. If the tank fills up with too many solids, the bacteria won’t have enough time to consume it before more is added, which can lead to an overflow in the drain field. Your tank will need to be pumped more frequently with excessive or improper garbage disposal use.

There are many maintenance and repair issues that lead to a malfunctioning garbage disposal. Regular clogs place wear and tear on the motors, leading to an eventual shutdown. Electrical issues at the breaker, wall outlet, or disposal itself can fry the unit. The most common cause is simply a worn-down motor. These motors can only handle so much use before powering down for good.
