"Great experience from begining to end, we are planning on having more work done in the near and far future. Resonably priced and the work was done extremely efficiently and the project area was cleaned and neat when the crew left."

Customers say: Quick response

"I hired Rick to fix my gravel driveway, clear land and put in a pad for a 40 x 60 barn. He gave me a very good quote, and over performed during the job. The barn went up without a hitch and the drive is holding up perfectly. Two months after the completion we had flooding and a river flowed down my driveway, and the next day the driveway looked great. I would recommend ricks work and expertise to anyone and everyone. He is very professional and courteous at all times. A great guy and great excavator."

"Dominick did a great job. Cleaned the chimney, woodstove and pipes. He uses a HEPA vacuum so there is no dust or smell. He did find a dead bluebird 🙁, but I’m hoping he can make a chimney cap to prevent that in the future."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

An asphalt paving project in a typical Augusta home solves problems caused by severe weather. It addresses frost heave damage from deep frost penetration and extensive cracking from freeze-thaw cycles. Proper grading also corrects drainage issues from heavy snowmelt, prevents foundation water problems, and creates a safe surface for snow removal equipment and oil delivery trucks common throughout Maine.

Helpful?

Before requesting asphalt paving services in Augusta, ME, document key site details. This includes property boundaries, current driveway dimensions, and drainage patterns to address local freeze-thaw cycles. Also, note the location of utilities and septic systems, and take photos of existing problem areas. Check for any Augusta building permit requirements, especially for new driveways or significant expansions, to ensure full compliance with local ordinances.

Helpful?

In Augusta, ME, asphalt paving maintenance is driven by the harsh climate. Annual crack sealing before winter is essential to combat severe freeze-thaw cycles. Sealcoating is required every two to three years to protect against road salt damage. After winter, expect to perform pothole repairs. Regular inspections for frost heave at the edges and enhanced drainage maintenance are also critical for longevity.

Helpful?

In Augusta, ME, asphalt paving projects prioritize function by designing for heavy snowmelt and using enhanced base layers to withstand frost heave. Layouts must also include adequate width for snow removal equipment and designated snow storage areas. These functional needs are balanced with aesthetics by creating designs that harmonize with the natural landscape and comply with any local historic district guidelines.

Helpful?

After completing an asphalt paving project in Augusta, avoid parking heavy vehicles on the new surface for at least 24 to 48 hours. It's important to perform pre-winter crack sealing to prevent damage from the first freeze. A spring inspection should assess any winter damage, while sealcoating is recommended every two to three years to protect against salt and UV exposure from the climate.
