Small jobs welcome

"We were referred to AJ Pro Green by a colleague so we had them come out for a free estimate. They showed up on time and were very professional. They insulated our basement during our remodel and we couldnâ t be happier. The job was done quickly, was within our budget, and communication was fantastic. We would highly recommended!"

We are a locally owned and operated business focused on providing our \ncustomers a lasting, beneficial product. We pride ourselves on the quality, \nefficiency, and professional installation of our products. After all, the owners are \nalso the installers!\n\nMany people think of insulation as the itchy pink material stuffed in our walls \nduring the construction of our homes or businesses. That could not be further \nfrom the truth! Insulation comes in many forms, and Spray Foam of Maine is \nproud to offer our customers the highly efficient option of Closed Cell Foam as \nan improved alternative to conventional insulation types.\n \nWith the rising cost of heating with fossil fuels, our products \nensure a high efficiency rating of your dwelling, thus \ndecreasing heating costs.\n\nEven the best built structures are only as good as the \nmaterials put into them during construction. Far too often, \nour homes worst enemy in regards to heat loss is the structure \nitself. \n \n

"Andrew and his crew did great work on a tough job at a competitive rate. They installed batts of RockWool in our attic over a couple of hot summer days, carrying big bags of it up our front stairway without scuffing the walls and then getting it through the small trap door in our second floor bathroom into the attic and laying it tightly in overlapping, crisscrossed layers from there. We have an older home and the joist bays are all irregular, requiring careful trimming and fitting of the batts in the ceiling plane. Prompt service, too. I am very appreciative of their work."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Completing insulation service significantly boosts your home's resale appeal in Augusta. Buyers face a long, demanding ME heating season and actively seek out energy-efficient properties. Keep all your energy audit reports, blower door test results, and weatherization documentation organized in a home file. Presenting this verified proof of efficiency to potential buyers demonstrates that the house is move-in ready and protected against extreme winter weather.

Helpful?

You should absolutely pair insulation service with comprehensive air sealing. In ME, sealing air leaks maximizes your home's energy efficiency and ensures the new insulation performs properly. Consider upgrading your heating system to a heat pump at the same time, as a tighter home requires a smaller, more efficient unit. If you tighten the home's envelope significantly, install a mechanical ventilation system to maintain excellent indoor air quality.

Helpful?

After finishing insulation service, schedule a professional blower door test to verify the air tightness of your Augusta home. File all necessary paperwork promptly to secure available state energy rebates. Have a local HVAC professional recalibrate your heating system, as a well-insulated home requires less heat to stay warm. Finally, monitor your roof during the first winter to ensure the new heat flow patterns do not create fresh ice dams.

Helpful?

When planning insulation service in Augusta, prepare for structural and electrical surprises. Older homes hide knob-and-tube wiring that requires professional removal before work begins. Harsh ME winters cause ice dams, leading to rotted roof sheathing and damaged rafters that demand immediate repair. You must also address inadequate attic ventilation or missing vapor barriers to meet local building codes and prevent future moisture buildup in your home.

Helpful?

Maintaining your insulation service involves routine seasonal inspections. Check your attic annually for moisture, compressed materials from ice dams, and signs of squirrels or mice seeking winter warmth. Inspect basement and crawl space insulation every spring, as Augusta freeze-thaw cycles shift foundation walls and disrupt vapor barriers. Always verify that your bathroom and kitchen exhaust vents remain properly routed to the exterior rather than discharging moisture directly into insulated spaces.
