"Jacked up the porch, framed and installed 3 doors, built stairs. This was all done to fit the architecture of a house built in 1880. Very professional and knowledgeable regarding repairs to an old house. Would definitely hire again. Highly recommended."

"Andrew and his crew did an amazing job building this garage. Even though he ran into some issues with the supplier of products he went above and beyond to make sure we were kept informed. Additionally, he also replaced (and improved) an existing garage door in the lower level of our home. He also repaired some siding on our house. They even put our two garage door openers in. Wood, steel, fiberglass, and aluminum are among the top building materials for a garage. Wood is highly customizable, naturally insulative, and durable in mild climates but can be expensive. Steel is lightweight, low-maintenance, and cost-effective, but it’s susceptible to rust. Fiberglass is low-maintenance and doesn’t shrink or expand in changing temperatures, but it can become brittle and crack from prolonged high winds and sun exposure.

If your cement garage floor is sinking and cracking, your first step should be to call a local structural engineer to assess the problem. They can determine if it’s a minor amount of sinking related to normal settlement or if the issue is structural in nature. If you do have structural damage, the engineer or a foundation repair company that you hire will come up with a plan to fix the issue, which often consists of mudjacking for less severe issues or underpinning for more extensive problems.

Having a garage installed certainly adds to the value of your home. The consideration is not whether it adds value, but for many, they want to know if adding a garage yields a return on their investment or ROI. While garages can add anywhere from 5% to 20% of the total value of your property, that doesn’t mean that they return 5% to 20% of the money invested in building them. Most homeowners build garages for a purpose but know that you can recover your investment when you sell or refinance.
