"The owner of this company is well educated and experienced. He and his crew were always on time, organized, hard workers, professional and very efficient. We were treated respectfully and everyone was very amicable. The painting project they undertook for us was challenging and not just an ordinary paint job. It was a room filled with walls that were splatter painted in many colors resulting in a rough, raised and drippy finish. Their finished product for us was flat, smooth and no show through of the multiple colors previously on those walls. In addition, we purchased new carpet in four rooms, 2 landings and one flight of 13 steps. We reviewed a nice selection of carpet colors and are very happy with the color and the installation. They also added more screws to our floor boards to eliminate many years of progressive creaking. All the creaks are gone! This is a company well worth hiring and We will recommend Stellar Painting to those in need of the services offered without hesitation and look forward to using them on future projects. . You are in trusted and good hands with Stellar Painting."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.

Deck staining or painting safeguards wood against the elements through its protective layer, enhancing decay resistance, prolonging structural integrity, and improving visual appeal.

The opposite is actually true: Wood stains tend to appear lighter when they’re fully dry. However, stains may darken as they weather and oxidize with age. Stains might also darken on surfaces left in direct sunlight, as UV rays can break down pigment particles and cause them to darken over time.

To make sure the paint won’t bubble as you apply it, make sure to paint on a day that’s cooler than 85 degrees Fahrenheit. When the temperature is too high, the paint won’t dry evenly, which can result in bubbles forming on the surface. Another way to prevent paint from bubbling is to clean the walls, apply primer, and let everything dry completely before you begin.

No, you don't need to stain Ipe decking, although you can if you want to change the color. You will, however, need to apply a UV coating if you don't want the natural color to fade. Speak to a deck staining specialist near you to discuss the best options if you want to stain your decking. And remember that you’ll need to seal your Ipe wood deck annually to protect it from scratches and Mother Nature.
