When we’ve completed inspecting, we’ll review the draft of the upcoming report, so you’ll know what issues will be in the report before we leave. Please be prepared to spent 4 hours with me. Why hire an inspector whose services merely meet Licensing and Certification minimum requirements which focus only upon protecting your contractual needs by identifying deficiencies and concerns? When for the same investment, you can participate in an LBI Education Inspection which in addition to providing you with a more comprehensive report, also teaches you all about the property, answers your questions, and provides a report created to serve as an informative manual similar to what is in the glove box of your vehicle.

"Not Recommended for Thermostat Replacement — Unreasonable and Unfair $700 Charge I do not recommend Glenmont Air Conditioning & Heating for thermostat replacement work. I was charged $700 for a simple thermostat replacement, which I believe was unreasonably high and unfair. I was under the impression that the quoted estimate represented the maximum expected cost only if the technician had to perform additional wiring or complex installation work. If you want to install an Ecobee or any other type of thermostat, you can simply YouTube the installation, which provides step-by-step instructions on how to unwire, label, and rewire to the new thermostat. For my installation, I was under the impression that additional wiring might be needed, but it turned out to be a straightforward swap of the old thermostat with a new Ecobee unit, a process that took only about 15 minutes. Despite that, I was still charged the full amount. The Ecobee Premium thermostat itself costs around $250, meaning they charged nearly $500 just for labor, regardless of how simple or quick the installation is. To make matters worse, the installation only comes with a 30-day warranty, which hardly justifies such a high price. I tried to communicate and explain that this charge was unreasonably high and unfair, but they simply said, “It is what it is.” If you’re considering a thermostat installation, I strongly suggest hiring a professional through Thumbtack, where qualified experts can do the same job for under $150 with transparent pricing and good service. I expected fairness, honesty, and reasonable pricing from Glenmont, but unfortunately, that was not my experience."

Putting 2 +2 together, Buric ghosted me to run out the clock on my warranty for the repair of the product they installed. Would you ever hire anybody who behaves like that???"

To ABV's credit, they didn't charge me for the control board when that didn't turn out to be the problem. Finally, they decided that the compressor needed to be replaced, which cost $1800. That fixed the issue. Three simultaneous systems failures is highly improbable, and I strongly suspect that if the compressor had been replaced first, I would have avoided spending an additional $2400. I should have gone with GE's repair service first, but no availability for 2 weeks. ABV took 3.5 weeks to finally repair."

"Excellent service! I had a 26yr old A/C and Propane furnace that I wanted to update to an ALL ELECTRIC high efficiency heat pump. The price in the estimate was much higher than I was expecting, but they worked with me and brought it down considerably, provided I could accept an install slot in a couple of days due to a cancellation. Go for it, I thought! Unfortunately, it turned out that the estimator/salesman (who shall remain nameless) apparently got a bit confused and set up the equipment as a hybrid propane system - not the all-electric system that I wanted. Ugh. I only realized this when the installers had the indoor unit in place, and I saw the propane burners. Doh! So, I explained the situation to them, and they pulled the unwanted unit out and jumped through the hoops to order the correct unit and its accessories (wiring, breakers etc.), with no change to the price. They were very friendly and polite through all of this even though it meant the wasted work and that they had to come back the next day with the new IDU. Anyway, the final install all went well, and they were very friendly and respectful of the property and explained all the install details as they went (sorry Melvin, for all the pestering!) I'm very happy with the company and the installer's knowledge and professionalism. RECOMMENDED!"
