"In terms of wildlife and rodent control, Adcock is the best. They're people really know what they are doing - understand animal behaviors and how to eliminate the problems humanely, and protect from future intrusions. They did have a problem with scheduling (took morning off but office had scheduled the wrong day so wasted the time off of work) and confusions on invoicing (in our favor, not theirs)- - office operations seem to need some improvement. But all and all, an excellent company - especially the professionals doing the actual work. I would not hesitate to use Adcock and recommend them to others (this is the second time we have used them - they were highly effective both times)"

Customers say: Quick response

"The owner, Josh, was timely, knowledgeable and honest. We had other Pest Control persons come out and they quoted a price, but were not prepared to address the problem nor did they try to figure out entry points. Josh figured out the entry point on the first visit before we even entered into a contract. He climbed the roof at different points and then he set out a plan to trap the racoons. He caught 5 in total over a period of 6 days and then came to close up the entry point. It was an extreme pleasure to work with DMV Pest Control."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

While cockroaches can contaminate appliances and their contents, they won't cause damage. Cockroaches can spread bacteria like E. coli and salmonella, making it important to keep them out of places where food is stored, such as a refrigerator. When it comes to electronics, however, cockroaches could potentially damage internal electrical components. As the pests navigate inside a TV or console, they may touch high-voltage components that could short out your product. This damage could lead to costly repairs or require replacements.

Yes, filling gaps can help with pest problems in your home. Sealing baseboard gaps reduces small-insect entry points into your home. Even tiny spaces provide pathways for pests, so addressing all gaps throughout your home creates a more effective barrier than spot treatments in individual rooms.

Ticks aren't dangerous, but their bites are often imperceptible thanks to a numbing agent in their saliva. They can carry and transmit pathogens to people and animals, leading to diseases such as anaplasmosis, babesiosis, and Lyme disease. So if you live in a region with a high tick prevalence, tick treatment is worthwhile to keep your family and pets safe.

Both insects can damage wood, but there are key differences between termites and carpenter ants that tell them apart. Carpenter ants tunnel through moist wood, leaving behind smooth tunnels and sawdust-like piles, as they don't eat the wood but rather carve it for nesting. In contrast, termites actually consume wood, creating irregular galleries filled with mud and dirt, and leaving behind mud tubes as their signature. In terms of appearance, carpenter ants have segmented bodies with heart-shaped heads and larger front wings, while termites have more oval bodies with straight antennae and equal-sized wings.

Technically, yes, chinch bugs can fly. However you won’t usually see them in flight. Chinch bugs like to stick close to the ground and they usually move around by hopping or crawling (which is why they can be hard to see). Since they don’t get much chance at flying, they’re pretty bad at it and only fly for short distances—like to nearby yards.
