"The crew arrived exactly on time.  The removed all nails and filled the holes. Caulked around the windows.  They even removed and put back up my flat screen TV that was mounted on the wall. They painted all the trim and doors in the rooms.  They covered all the floors with drop cloths and did not leave one drop of paint on the floor.  I was extremely pleased with their professionalism and couldn't be happier with the work.  The cost was more than I budgeted for but it was worth it.

"Jim responded promptly to my order placed on Angie's List for the Remote Computer Tune Up & Repair Deal.  He cleaned up the computer remotely, which was running very slowly, and required frequent re-boots.  Computer is running much faster now.  Great service.  Would highly recommend.

"I specifically booked this company because they told me they had one guy that could diagnose problems with both a refrigerator and a gas cooktop.
This was not the case and neither guy either could or would actually fix the problems that same day. AND, they came at completely different times during the day. The guy assessing the cooktop issue seemed a bit more knowledgable and courteous and told me that my Dacor cooktop set-up for propane even though it has gas hooked up to it. He quoted something like $300 to switch it, but mentioned that I might just want to get a whole new cooktop. I was surprised it would cost so much, but understood this and thanked him for the evaluation.
The guy (second guy) assessing the refrigerator told me that it would cost me a couple hundred bucks to repair my fridge (food in freezer was not staying frozen) that day or else I could take everything out of it and unplug it with the doors open for a couple of days. When I told him that I really needed it repaired that day and would pay, he basically said and quot;tough.and quot; It would take him too long, so I have no choice, but to do it myself — over two days. Then, he and quot;generouslyand quot; told me that he would not charge me a second service charge for the visit. He must have had something more important to do that day, than to fix my appliances. In the end, although I put all of the food on ice in every ice chest I had (as instructed), but a great deal of it went bad and had to be thrown out.
Very, very disappointing experience and I am sure that it all depends on the luck of the draw of the subcontractor they assign you, but I will never use BGE Home again and take that risk.

"I'm sorry I don't remember who came out, but they did a fantastic job. They did 14 windows inside and out, plus pulled the screens and scrubbed them. They put everything back, were very careful with their ladders, took off their shoes while inside, and even got rid of the dead ladybugs on the foyer window ledge for me. (why do builders put ledges under windows that high up?) They double checked to make sure everything was right before they left. I would definitely recommend them. They did a wonderful job and now I can actually see out my windows again. Thank you Keenwick.

"The drywall repair was excellent. I could not ask for more, or better. The patches that needed fixing were extremely large, and you cannot tell that anything was done. If all you need is drywall repair, stop reading now, and hire Kargman's. Our main thoughts were that they did a great job, eventually. They had to come out and fix things twice and that shows great customer service and responsiveness. We just would prefer not having multiple trips. The carpentry ended up being excellent as well, and it was an admittedly tough job getting baseboards attached to brick, and trim along the walls where drywall met the brick. The main issue we had was that there were some sloppy places at first that needed Kargman's to come back out and fix. They were great in doing this, and bent over backwards to come out and do it again, but it would have been better not to have to have anyone come back out. The real issue we had was with the painting. Eventually, it all looks great and the final product is perfect. It's just that they had to come back out and clean up painted over faceplates, trim, and a door. They did eventually get it pretty much right, but it took a while. So again, everything turned out great and looks great, but it's not above average or done on the first try, so we couldn't give an A."

Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

The cost of a window repair varies significantly depending on which part is damaged. Here is a breakdown of common repairs and their estimated costs:

  • Broken seal or fogginess between panes: $70–$245

  • Cracked pane: $40–$100

  • Broken glass: $200–$2,000

  • Sash, seal, or track repair: $200–$600

  • Latch or hardware issues: $75–$200

  • Broken window frame: $175–$1,000

  • Window screen replacement: $140–$480

Yes, if you have ventilated skylights, you can install insect screens on them. Insect screens for skylights cost $10 to $50 each, depending on their size and quality. Most pros highly recommend insect screens for ventilated skylights because they keep pests outside of your home while allowing fresh air inside.

Drafts, condensation between panes, difficulty operating, or visible frames or glass damage are signs of needed repairs.

While the benefits of garage door screens usually outweigh the downsides, there are some cons to installing one. First off, they can be quite expensive, especially if you’re having a professional install a retracting screen or a custom size screen. Second, they let fresh air and natural light in, but they also don’t provide the same privacy from people in the neighborhood that a solid door does. As you might guess, screens also won’t insulate your garage, so they’re often not usable in colder weather.

Window screens are available in several standard sizes. Common dimensions include 24 to 36 inches wide by 36 to 48 inches tall, as well as sizes like 18 by 14 inches and 20 by 20 inches. These often correspond to standard window sizes, such as 2 feet wide by 3 feet tall or 4 feet wide by 6 feet tall. Screens are also sold in replacement rolls to accommodate various dimensions. It is always best to measure your windows for accuracy before a repair or replacement. If your windows are a non-standard size, you will likely need to order custom screens, which can increase the cost. However, a screen does not necessarily have to fit the entire window, so you may be able to use a standard-size screen even if your window is slightly larger.
