"The hardscape was installed in 2019. From the onset, there were problems with SBC and it's staff: problems with not following design (it is supposed to be a semi-circle - see photos) stairs that had to be rebuilt three times, wrong color posts, failed to insert the post sleeve-skirts, cap stones were not glued, plants were not properly spaced, major damage to my driveway, damage to my solar lights, dumping construction waste on my neighbor’s property, and a sales rep who wouldn't return my calls. The facade of the hardscape developed a major crack months after being built, and again in 2022 (twice within 3 years). SBC designed the hardscape so that all rainwater would be flowing to the front of the retaining wall, causing structural damage to the wall. The owner of SBC, Brad, was aware of the flaw and tried to correct this flaw by installing a drain in front of the wall, but the wall continues to crack. The drain should have been installed in the center of the hardscape, elevating pressure on the front retaining wall. This major project came with a 60-month warranty. However, because SBC wants to skirt its responsibilities, the owner no longer wants to make repairs, and NOW states there was only a 36 month warranty. This hardscape project cost nearly 30K, and in return, I received sub-par workmanship, poor quality, unprofessional conduct, and a patio that continues to crack. "Our house looks amazing and the price was beyond reasonable. This should be a 5 star review and we had every plan to hirer owner Neil and his team again for decking project. The work was performed over 5 really cold days in Feb; the team was timely, professional and incredibly considerate of the pets being in and out of the yard. Unfortunately we are still waiting for a follow up from the business on a few touch ups on a small encasement that was missed. I spoke with Mr. Snyder on the phone March 3 and sent photos via text message as requested on March 4th and again on the 17th. We have yet to hear back on any resolution. I hate using this approach of down scoring and will happily update this review to a 5 once the few items are completed. It just makes me anxious that any 10 year workmanship warranty won't be honored."

"Deck and Shed Pros recently completed a project for us to completely replace an old deteriorated deck with a new wood one. They are very easy to work with and we are very happy with the finished product. Here is a summary of our experience working with them. Positive aspects of working with Deck and Shed Pros - They listened to what we wanted to achieve, and genuinely tried to make it happen - They were willing to consider options that no other candidate contractor (including three other contractors on Angi with very high ratings) were willing to consider. Deck & Shed Pros took the time to investigate the use of hardwood decking (using black locust lumber). We ultimately did decide to use the black locust lumber for decking and railings which provides a nice looking, low maintenance, real wood alternative to composite decking. - They were willing to work with us on a solution for a support post location problem that required an extra discussion with our county inspection department. But they managed that discussion with relative ease where other candidate contractors rejected the option outright claiming that it would never be approved or pass inspection. (They had it reviewed by an engineer and it did pass inspection) - They provided copies of the drawings that they used for the permit process so that we could use them for our Home Owners Association process - They provided weekly updates on the status of the job once we signed the contract - They were patient with and responded promptly to any questions that we had during the course of the job - The construction team was professional, courteous, and hard working.
