"Always Waterproofing did a fabulous job on installing an egress window in my basement. They ran into an unforeseen pipe and ended up moving it and doing additional drywall work. I would highly recommend them for any projects. Professional, fair pricing and communicative."

"We are very pleased with the work that was done. Hats off to Janilo Ugalde, a one man crew. Not only did he do the job himself, but even took time showing us and explaining what he did as he went along and cleaning up after the job . We hope he is commended and rewarded for a job well done. We also want to thank Lon Brankovich, Foundation Specialist for all his help in explaining everything that would be done. Really a great help."

"The installation of the egress window and sump pump was performed in a skilled and professional manner. It's a complex and dirty job that really needs to be done right the first time. While Jordan is not the cheapest, the work done was of the highest quality. After the project was completed, the walls were repaired and everything was meticulously cleaned. Jordan went the extra mile. I would definitely recommend JDS Home Improvement."

"Travis and Chris were a great team and did an amazing job bringing our guest bath out of the 80's and into a beautiful modern space. Travis worked with my husband and me on our design vision and helped us pick out materials to complete the renovation. From there, we made a deposit and scheduled a date. This was a complete bathroom overhaul that required all new fixtures. When they tore up the carpet (yes, carpet) in the bathroom they found that the floor was half the cement foundation and half wood subfloor, which made for an uneven surface not ideal for laying tile. Travis quickly came up with a solution that allowed us to level out the floor and put down the tile we wanted. This delayed the project slightly, but it was well worth it to have a beautiful finished product. Each evening Travis and Chris cleaned up the space as much as possible and were very respectful in our house. I would definitely hire Graham Restoration for our next project and look forward to working with them again!

"Finding a contractor via the Angies List recommendation was "EASY" and convenient. Things became a little more tenuous after selecting Long Creek Construction for the work. The project is not finished (YET). As of 7/29/2016 (~3:30 p.m.) – about 75% done; work started on 7/11/2016 under a written contract; at the onset, the on-site supervisor had to be informed by the customer that the orientation and design of the project was NOT in accordance with the customer’s contracted design/specifications; footing holes were dug and placed incorrectly; upon clarification with the customer, the placement of the footings was corrected; initially the customer was told there would be a contract cost adjustment, but the footing placement correction was made without further mention of any cost adjustment; the porch, deck and steps were constructed and installed quickly and in a professional workmanship manner; several of the boards have defects (gouges and stains) that are not representative of high quality brand new PVC porch and deck boards. These PVC boards were selected by the customer due to their “STAIN AND FADE RESISTANT” feature. Long Creek has not addressed this deficiency (YET). During construction, mud and cement were splashed on numerous areas of the white vinyl, especially the support posts as well as my house. In addition, the siding has incurred a black stain due to the “ice/water roof sheet residue. Long Creek has not addressed this discrepancy (YET). The customer submitted a discrepancy list to Long Creek but the items have not been addressed. (YET). The customer was disappointed with the lack of automatic updates on work schedules, discussions of detailed work plans and progress of the project. The site supervisor was very willing to answer questions but only when asked by the customer. There was not a plan to update the customer automatically or periodically. Overall, the project is proceeding well. The customer is concerned about the lack of contact with the initial contractor/salesman (WYRON) regarding the progress of the project, delays, issues or customer concerns. Interim Inspection Discrepancy List submitted to Long Creek Construction – Observations of 7/25/2016 1. Location: 14 porch boards from house – “Orange Stain” – Right Side 2. Location: Need to caulk siding/edges of screened porch to house – Right Side 3. Location: Need to caulk siding/edges of screened porch to house – Left Side 4. Location: 18 porch boards from porch rail – “Stain” on 18-19 boards - Right Side 5. Location: 10 porch boards from porch rail – “Stain” on 10-12 boards – Right Side 6. Location: 8 porch boards from doorway opening – “Gouge” in porch board – Left Side 7. Location: Deck Rail Post Bottom Trim “not flush/secure with deck board” – Left Side 8. Location: Deck Rail Post Support Top “Cracked White Vinyl” – Left Side 9. Location: White Vinyl Covering the frame is “not flush/secured to deck and porch boards” – Left Side 10. --- Location: 9 deck boards from deck railing – “Gouge in board edge” – Left side of center 11. --- Location: 8 deck boards from doorway opening – “Black Discoloration” - Left Side 12. --- Location: 4 deck boards from doorway opening – “Black Discoloration” – Right side of center 13. --- Location: 1st Deck Rail Baluster near doorway opening – “Stain” – Right Side 14. --- Location: White Vinyl Covering the Frame is “not flush/secure to deck and porch boards” – Right Side 15. --- Stain on siding due to ice/water sheet residue 16. --- General Comment: The PVC Deck Boards contain streaks of black discoloration in numerous areas throughout the deck. Reminder: As previously discussed, please avoid contact with the Heat Pump Compressor Unit; worker were seen standing on the unit. Please, NO standing on top or NO dropping items onto the Heat Pump Compressor. Future Plans: Continue work to correct discrepancies and complete installation including fascia boards, screen system, storm door, gate, fan, porch ceiling, GFI outlet on porch (maybe), etc., etc., etc.. The customer has not received any response to the above comments that were previously submitted to Long Creek Construction."

"Rosaly and Arquimedes are doing a fantastic job installing a basement kitchen, bath, and rec room.  He's an incredibly hard working and honest man who cares about the quality of his work and his attention to detail.  He's on time and is always open and flexible to any changes.  His prices can't be beat even after I vetted several other contractors.  He's very easy to work with and has great ideas.  His finishing work is beautiful and clean!!  You won't go wrong with Rosaly!

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

If improperly installed, an egress window can compromise your foundation’s structural integrity, so it’s important to work with a pro to ensure your foundation remains in good shape. Any money you may save on a DIY egress window installation may cost you in the long run if your foundation is damaged in the process.

Most professionals can install a window well in two to three days, depending on the size of the well and the window you want inside it. If you’re just replacing an existing window well, the work is much less intensive, and most experts can get the job done in just one day. Connecting the window well to a drainage system or installing a custom concrete window well will naturally take longer, but even the most complicated installations shouldn’t take more than three days.

Finding a reputable contractor for an egress window installation involves researching and vetting potential candidates. Start by searching for local professionals, reading customer reviews, and checking their websites for a portfolio of their work.

Once you have a shortlist, ask the following questions to ensure they are qualified:

• Are you licensed and insured?

• What experience do you have installing egress windows?

• Can you provide references from previous customers?

• Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors?

• What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule?

• How do you handle payment?

The primary benefits of an egress window include providing a safe emergency exit, increasing natural light in a space like a basement, and improving ventilation. Additionally, installing an egress window can often increase your property's value.

The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.
