"The team came out on time and did an outstanding job. The crew did a good job of protecting our hardwood floors and keeping the area clean inside our home. This was a quality installation and we are looking forward to cold weather so we can test out our new stove. I would definitely recommend for a chimney liner or wood stove installation."

"Project: Power-wash exterior Home. 7-15-19, I am 100% satisfied with the power-wash job done on my home by Mike w/Mr. Pâ s Chimney. The cost met my budget, $325.00. Mike arrived 45 minutes before my appointment time, which was good because heat temps for 7-15-19 was predicted to be 84 degrees. We walked around my homesâ perimeter to see scope of work. Communication was good; he understood my concerns and gave satisfactory answers. Mike took his time and did a thrall job power-washing my home, windows & ceils. Also, he removed a wasp nets and spider webs. I am very pleased with Mikeâ s quality of work. My home looks fantastic. I highly recommend Mike w/Mr. Pâ s Chimney for your homesâ power-wash needs."

"Classic Chimney did a nice job of cleaning our dirty chimney and repairing some deteriorating brickwork in our fireplace. The work was easy to schedule and the two-man team came within the time window we set up. They were tidy and thorough. We'd had the brickwork patched a few years ago by another contractor, but the job didn't last. I was impressed by the way the Classic guy took the time to do a good job. Best of all the price was excellent. The chimney cleaning cost just $59 with a coupon that the company alerted me to. That price is well below prices quoted by other sweep services."

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

Cracks in the chimney can be very serious, depending on their location and size. Even small cracks can become serious over time if left unrepaired. Cracks allow heat and moisture to deteriorate your chimney and harmful carbon monoxide gas to seep into your home. Small cracks can often be caulked, while large cracked sections may require full replacement.

Certain fireplace repairs will require that your contractor is licensed, including anything that involves moving, installing, or repairing gas lines. In that case, your professional will need to be a certified plumber. You can use Angi’s licensing lookup tool to confirm that the company you’re hiring is properly licensed. Most states don’t have specific license requirements for other fireplace repairs, but most demand at least a general contractor’s license. It’s also a good idea to look for companies certified by the National Fireplace Institute, as those pros tend to be more qualified to carry out the repair.

Selecting the right size wood stove fan depends on the size of your stove and the room it heats. Larger stoves or rooms may benefit from fans with larger or multiple blades, as these can move more air efficiently. Consider the fan's specifications and airflow capacity to match it with your stove's heat output for optimal performance.

You can safely build a fire pit on your patio as long as you use porous, fire-resistant pavers or a fire pit mat over existing pavers. Otherwise, you’ll need to have exposed ground beneath your pit. You’ll also need to make sure the location for the fire pit is far enough away from your house and any other nearby structures.

A chimney requires both a cover and a cap, but these parts often get confused with one another. A chimney cover seals the top of the chimney around the flue pipe to prevent water from entering the chimney. A chimney cap is a piece that sits above the flue to prevent animals, debris, and water from entering the flue.
