"We went to the showroom to discuss our project with Nick. He sent us to his suppliers to choose a slab of granite. After looking at alot of granite we found a slab we liked and asked him for an estimate. He quoted an excellent price and we put the slab we wanted on hold so that he could pick it up. We went to Nick's showroom to decide what parts of the slab we wanted to use, decide on the edge we wanted and which sinks would be used. Once we made our choices, we had the instillation within 10 days. Everything from start to finish went perfectly with no problems.

"Once Mr. Wilkerson arrived, I told him the problem I was having with my sink. He then started performing the work to unclog my drain. It did not take that long for him to unclog my drain and he checked to make sure it was running fine before he left. I continued to monitor the flow of the water draining in the sink. It has been a week since he performed the work on my sink and I have not had any problems so far."

"The Porcelite folks showed up on time and quickly completed the work needed.  However, there was some confusion about what cleaners could be used on the new resurfaced tub as well as the texture of the non-slip surface installed on the tub's bottom.  Porcelite quickly clarified which cleaners could be used and offered to sand down the non-slip surface to make it smoother if I so desired, which I eventually decided not to do.  Overall, good experience.

"They were easy to schedule with. They did an estimate beforehand. I don't have any complaints except they seemed a little rushed. One of the workers who worked in the bathroom came back out to respray it. The final result didn't look right because he redid it. They guy who did the kitchen countertops took his time and it looks great even now."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Since pedestal sinks are narrow and don’t have a cupboard to conceal pipes, many homeowners change their plumbing to make it less visible. It’s a big reason why installing a pedestal sink is more labor-intensive than other types.

Yes, you can install a farmhouse sink on an existing countertop—but there are some caveats. You’ll need to precisely measure. It’s best to choose a sink that’s the same dimensions as your existing sink, since your contractor won’t have to cut the countertop. Otherwise, pay close attention to the depth of your counter (the front to back measurement). You don’t want to install something that’s so big it sticks out beyond your countertop and cabinetry.

You’ll only need to replace your sink’s pipes when you start to notice signs of wear like corrosion or leaking. Most pipes last somewhere between 20 and 100 years, depending on the material. Copper and cast iron can last up to 100 years. Galvanized steel and brass generally have a 50-year lifespan. PVC pipes last 25 to 40 years.

There’s no definitive answer regarding whether equipping your kitchen island with a stove or sink is better. The right option depends on each homeowner's lifestyle, cooking style, and kitchen layout. If you cook with guests over, having a stove that faces outward can facilitate socialization while you prepare dinner. On the other hand, if you use a lot of produce, having your sink by your prep area makes it easier to clean veggies while cooking. A sink also makes cleanup easier by allowing you to wipe down your prep area and place your dirty dishes in the sink.

Costs depend on sink type, labor, plumbing modifications, and whether additional fixtures need upgrading.
