Our experience with stone Depot was perfect. Not only are they excellent at their craft, but they are all excellent people. From the beginning, Nick the owner was patient with us and made thoughtful suggestions when we were going back and forth on design. His quote was fair, his timing was impeccable, and his whole team has been nothing but professional. Huge kudos to Nick, Lucy, his son Alex, and Junior for giving us our dream kitchen! We are so happy to have worked with them and to get to know all of them through the process. I would recommend them 100 times over

We went to the showroom to discuss our project with Nick. He sent us to his suppliers to choose a slab of granite. After looking at alot of granite we found a slab we liked and asked him for an estimate. He quoted an excellent price and we put the slab we wanted on hold so that he could pick it up. We went to Nick's showroom to decide what parts of the slab we wanted to use, decide on the edge we wanted and which sinks would be used. Once we made our choices, we had the instillation within 10 days. Everything from start to finish went perfectly with no problems.

I was combining bright white cabinets on the perimeter of my kitchen with a walnut peninsula.  That required either getting a single granite that would work with both or two granites that would work with the different woods and each other.  I had searched on my own a couple of times and was leaning toward a particular granite.   Nick was able to talk me out of a bad decision.  He then very patiently evaluated dozens of granites with me, pointing out potential problems with some, narrowing down to others.  His expertise with stone helped me to choose beautiful slabs that work perfectly in my kitchen.  I then purchased the slabs and they were delivered to his shop.
His process (customer buys slab, Nick's crew fabricates the countertop) yields left-over stone in his shop.  From this, he chose a perfect stone for my laundry room.  He measured, then his crew installed a week later.
For the kitchen, he was able to install less than a week after measuring.  That is amazingly fast turnaround for granite fabrication.  The granites were fabricated perfectly and look gorgeous.  Very professional crew.
Overall, it was a terrific experience.  Stonework is as much art as craft.  Nick has great taste and is willing to share that with his customers to help them make great choices.

The owner of Stone Depot, Nick Papas, offers hands on professional service.   I am a realtor, so great service is part of my professional standard and I appreciate it in others.  Nick was always available by phone and was very responsive.  I was nervous about selecting my granite, and I changed my mind at the last minute.   Nick was very gracious and allowed me to select another granite that I preferred. His team arrived for the installation on time and did an outstanding job.  The was a minor issue with caulking, and Nick sent someone out the next day to finish it off.  I could not be more happy with my granite and Stone Depot.  I was advised to personally select my slab of granite - which I did.  All granite is different, so that was good advice.  The location for selection was in Sterling VA, which was great for me since I live in VA.
I also checked out Counter Intelligence, but found the salesman was not very concerned and did not go the extra mile to get my business.  I  had to drive all the way to Silver Spring MD to look at samples of granite slabs.  That was to far to go.  Also, their price quote was higher.  The smaller company atmosphere at Stone Depot was a much better choice for me.  I highly recommend them!

I have invested in residential real estate for more than 30 years.  Renovating kitchens and bathrooms has been a regular part of the marketing process.  Since Stone Depot opened 6 years ago, I have relied on them to complete 15 or more such projects.  In each case, Nick Pappas, the owner and every member of his team, have consistently demonstrated a degree of professional concern, attention to detail, and quality control that always met or exceeded my demanding expectations.  And I have never experienced shoddy workmanship, cost overruns, or scheduling problems.  Indeed, when a project presented a special challenge such as an unusually small space or imperfectly constructed walls, Nick actually supervised the cabinet or counter installation.  I would strongly recommend Stone Depot to anyone planning such a project.  L. Nick and Mario were recommended by our builder (My Builder, Inc.) to supply and install the granite in our new finished basement.  They were FABULOUS!  They helped us look at samples, talked budget, explained benefits/pitfalls of what we were requesting and were even helpful in finding attractive and reasonably priced corbels (the things that support big heavy bars).  If we ever get around to replacing the counters in the kitchen, Nick and his team are going to be the first ones we call.

I had a particular, and not common, granite in mind when I went shopping for my countertop. Amir called around and found 2 slabs in Chantilly. After I looked at the slabs and approved one, Amir had it brought to the Lorton site where he held it until I was ready to have measurements taken. After my new cabinets were installed, Amir came and took measurements. The installers arrived on time and did a very professional job. About 2 weeks after installation, I had 2 small flakes come off the countertop and Amir immediately brought a workman out to fill them. My countertop looks perfect now and I am very pleased with the final product, the service I received and with the the installation. Some companies charge for every hole and cut-out, but it was all included in the price. I will definitely use the Stone Depot for future projects.

I had (3) companies quote my counter.  Two of them (including Stone Depot) made arrangements to come to my house and take measurements within just a couple days.  This was the first place that Stone Depot shined.  Amir brought samples to show us in our kitchen.  When he was taking the measurements, he discussed all the different options for how the counter would be made.  We had discussions that we could only have in our kitchen.  He involved us but also offered his professional opinion to help us make.  The single biggest thing was a small one, but a great one.  He suggested that we make the backsplash 1" taller than standard.  Why is that such a big deal?!?  I did all the demo and clean-up of my old counter.  By making it 1" taller, the new backsplash would cover up the old work without requiring any additional sanding, painting, etc.  A cynic would say that by doing that he added about $20 in materials cost.  True, but it saved me a ton of work...and I didn't have to do it if I didn't want to!  After making the measurements, he gave me a ball-park quote.  We would have to come to the showroom to pick all the options and get a final quote.

A few days later we met in the showroom and picked out our edging and our granite color.  It was a good, fairly quick meeting and we got our final quote.  It was not the least expensive quote we received, but I felt the customer service was better.  We did one round of negotiations before agreeing on a final price; at which time I signed them up.

A few weeks later, on a Wednesday morning, they arrived a few minutes early for my counter installation.  The installation did not go perfectly but they handled the situation very well.  Due to my kitchen configuration and un-level cabinets, the installation was very challenging.  One piece of the counter cracked.  Although visibly frustrated, the installers discussed the situation and what the best plan of attack was.  They would remove the cracked piece, leave me two complete pieces in place, and return Friday with replacements for the broken piece.  Friday afternoon, they had the replacement ready and my counter was fully installed within a few hours.  Friday night I was installing the faucet but it was missing a part.  I was out of town on Saturday and the owner made arrangements to meet me on Sunday morning to get an entire replacement faucet.

Did everything go perfectly smoothly, no...but that doesn't mean it wasn't a great experience.  I will definitely go back to Stone Depot.

It was about a 7 out of a 10. It is a family owned company. Some of the work was subcontracted out and some of them were not the best. The plumber was not the best. We got one other estimate and it was a lot higher. Our daughter might get an estimate for a kitchen countertop from them.

I would absolutely recommend Stone Depot for any of your home remodeling or upgrade needs. I am a first time home owner and this was my first experience with any home renovations. I completely renovated the kitchen and was looking for new cabinets and granite countertops when we found Stone Depot. Nick was extremely helpful throughout the whole process and was always available when I had questions and needed suggestions. He guided me through the process from start to finish while treating my kitchen as if it were his own. We received many estimates through different companies but nothing compared to the quality and price that Stone Depot offered. Their delivery staff showed up on time (unlike many) and was just as helpful as Nick. I would 110% recommend Stone Depot to anyone needing kitchen remodeling. I can?t wait to continue working with them on my upcoming bathroom renovation!

I live in a small one bed room condo and needed to upgrade my kitchen. My condo management team recommended Stone Depot to me, so I called them and got an estimate. Nick came out to my condo for the initial assessment, and helped me pick out cabinets, countertops, tile flooring as well as any additional changes he thought he could make to the layout of the kitchen. Nick was very direct and didn?t pressure me with additional sales pitches or price upgrades. His prices were the most competitive I?d seen, and when he was finished there were no additional charges as all. I am pretty new to home upgrades, and I felt that Nick really worked with me to tell me what the best options in my budget were, and I felt like he saw this project through to the end. He gave me great advice re materials and options, and I never felt like I was pressured in any direction. Nick?s team started and finished working the day he promised. They were punctual, extremely considerate with my things, polite and did an excellent job! My kitchen is absolutely beautiful and, from someone who has been burned by contractors in the past, I would whole heartedly recommend his business out to anyone in the area who needs help remodeling theirs!
