"We contracted RCL Remodeling to assist with some drywall repairs in our DC townhome last month and were extremely pleased with their professional and thorough approach to their work. The two-man crew that worked on our unit did a fantastic job and were extremely communicative both before and during the repairs. We will definitely hire RCL Remodeling again should we need any additional work done on our house."

"I recently hired Moyses from Nicolle Paint for some drywall patching and painting, and I couldn't be happier with the results! He responded to my request very quickly and provided a clear, reasonable quote for the work. Moyses was very considerate of my home. He took great care to protect all my belongings and flooring and did a fantastic job of cleaning up when the work was done. Not only did he complete the job on time, but the quality of both the drywall patching and the painting was excellent. For anyone needing drywall or painting services, I would highly recommend Moyses and Nicolle Paint."

"24/7 contracting is EVERYTHING you ever want in a contractor - timely, communicative, reliable, affordable, kind, clean, efficient. Bienvenido from 24/7 arrived to my home, left his shoes at the door due to the rain and went straight to work on replacing my garbage disposal. He even saved me an extra trip to Home Depot by modifying cables himself. I look forward to using 24/7 for any of my other future contracting needs."

"Amazing craftsmanship and quality work. I highly recommend Bill for any of your handyman needs. We we're selling our house and needed him to touch-up some items and he knocked it out of the park for a very reasonable price. Bill was always on time and was very trustworthy. Look no further for your handyman needs!"

"The technician was great and I was impressed that he could put up the drywall (6' x 4'), skim the area, put in entirely new baseboard, and finally paint the area. I thought the service was a little bit pricey and the entire wall wasn't painted (about 60% of it was done) but the finished product was exceptional. You can't even tell there was work done as it was put back to original condition. Once we got new carpet padding down from another company, we can finally get back to using the room again. I would hire Mr. Handyman of AA again for any medium-major house project. Thanks!"

"I hire D. Fuentes to paint and patch a water leak in my bathroom ceiling. The job was very professional..so I decided to hire them to patch some dry wall and hang a tv bracket . They were very concerned about making sure everything was to my satisfaction. They didnâ t rush or cut corners. They went over and above repairing hole in my drywall. I was really surprised with how professional and meticulous they are. I am definitely going to hire them again in the near future. If you need drywall repair, painting or anything else, just give them a call."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

A jigsaw is commonly used to cut holes in drywall. It offers versatility and precision, making it suitable for creating circular or irregular openings. When equipped with the right blade, a jigsaw can swiftly and cleanly cut through drywall, making it a good choice for DIY projects.

How you hang the drywall can affect the finishing process. It's often easier to finish horizontal drywall panels, as the seams run across the wall rather than up and down. Standard drywall panels are 48 inches wide, so the seam is easy to reach without bending down or stretching your arms.

This depends on how much plaster is applied and in how many layers, but a decent estimate is around 150 square feet. If you are applying only two coats on a small wall, there is a chance you may only need one or two gallons for the entire project. If you are plastering a large living room wall with high ceilings, using one of the more involved techniques–like Scagliola–that requires several coats, expect the project materials costs to add up quickly.

You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.

Mudding drywall is a DIY-friendly project, but patience and practice are required for perfection. If you’re working in a highly visible area and want the best possible finish, hiring a professional drywaller is worth the cost. Pros have the tools and know-how to ensure a smooth surface with fewer sanding sessions and less cleanup.
