"Excellent job!! It was a pleasure working with E. Stanley Asphalt Paving. Joe did the estimate and was my contact and was there with the crew when the job was done. When Joe left during the paving, after having discussed the plan and what was being done, he introduced me to his father who stayed there until the job was done. Before the repaving the driveway was in bad shape and no work had been done on it for over 35 years but it now looks great! This is a top notch multigenerational family business. I highly recommend them."

"Took a while for Engel to get to my projects, but they finished both in one day and did excellent work at a very reasonable price. I would strongly recommend them to anyone with a paving requirement large or small"

"We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it worked out great. I had added some extra service, and so I had some additional cost. They were there when they said they would be there, they did what they said they were going to do, and they checked back to make sure we were happy with the finished product."

"This company is wonderful ! They've done a number of jobs for us (stone patio, walled garden, lawn restore, tree removal, gutter cleaning, and others) Everything they've ever done has been done the best, very impressive When we asked for small changes they were done immediately They are definitely our "go to" company for outside work"

Customers say: True professional

"Everything went very well. Eric at MD Legacy is such a professional. Always pleasant always smiling. The area that was repaired was cracked and in need of paint. The end result was very attractive and professional. I have been using Eric for projects since he started and will continue to use his services when needed."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Paving is a part of hardscaping, so all paving is hardscaping, but not all hardscaping is paving. Paving involves laying down concrete or asphalt, while hardscaping can also include the use of paving stones, bricks, gravel, wood, and more. Hardscape features that involve paving are considered permanent and will increase your property taxes, while some other hardscaping features—like those involving bricks, gravel, and paving stones—will not affect property taxes. Paving also typically requires a permit, while hardscaping features considered temporary will not.

Compared to a 10x20 concrete driveway costing between $800 and $3,000, a resin bound driveway of the same size costing $3,900 to $4,000 is the more expensive option. However, the cost still makes resin a cheaper option compared to a 10x20 paver driveway costing an average of $12,000.

Yes, but it's best to kill off the grass with solarization and remove the dead plant matter before laying down the pavers. This helps limit the chance of your pavers shifting as the dead plant matter decomposes.

Cobblestone driveways can take a major hit on anyone's bank account, begging the question of whether it's worth it to build a cobblestone driveway. Some homeowners might prefer more affordable driveway materials like concrete or pavers, which can give a similar appearance to cobblestone without the high price tag.

Paving your driveway costs between $2,500 and $6,600, to put that in perspective. But for others, there’s nothing quite like the timeless look of cobblestone driveways.

While paving a driveway is possible to do as a DIY project, we don’t recommend it. Hiring a driveway professional to pave it will ensure that your driveway looks neat and clean and lasts for years to come, and it will also prevent a weak driveway and, potentially, damage to your foundation. Paving a driveway requires heavy machinery, and while you can rent the equipment needed, operating it close to your garage slab or around your home’s foundation can crack it and lead to structural issues.
