"From start to finish, this felt like a partnership. SBC - and everyone they sent to do work - was fantastic. The designer listened and had great ideas, the masonry was beautiful, electric and plumbing were solutions oriented and I actually had fun selecting appliances. The final outdoor kitchen far exceeded our expectations and we are already trying to think of our next project with SBC."

"Edgar and his workers at M.E.V. outdoor solutions did a beautiful job restoring and resetting our natural blue stone patio, improving our drainage system, grading, and sodding. They were extremely professional and some of the hardest workers we have ever hired. I was beyond impressed with the work ethic of these individuals; they worked non-stop from the minute they arrived and worked late on a weekend days to complete the job. I HIGHLY recommend hiring M.E.V. outdoor solutions for any stone work, drainage, or landscaping."

"DJA is a fablous company! I am so pleased with their work. The team of workers worked so hard, and cleaned up each night after the days work. Jef,f also was on the job each day. The team was very professional, nice and a pleasure to have working in my yard. the work they did was soooo good. I have a beautiful new front porch and walk way , Curb appeal!!! The time they spent layng the pavers down and making sure it all looked perfect was good. they worked is really Top Line work. I am so very pleased they brought mulch to finish the bed, and leveled off the ground and put grass seed down were needed. . . DJA really thought of everything. ! I highly recommend them for your outdoor living spaces, curb appear or any stone work you may need. If i could give them a A plus I would !"

Outdoor Kitchens questions, answered by experts

Built-in gas grills typically have a life span of 10 to 15 years. However, their longevity can vary based on quality, usage frequency, climate conditions, and maintenance routines. High-quality models made from durable materials tend to last longer. Additionally, regular cleaning, covering the grill when not in use, and conducting routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning burners and replacing worn-out parts can extend its life. A well-maintained built-in gas grill can provide excellent performance and memorable cooking experiences for a decade or more, making it a worthwhile investment for outdoor cooking enthusiasts.

A few materials are most commonly used when it comes to building a frame for an outdoor kitchen: wood, steel, and concrete or brick. While there’s no best option overall, each material is better suited to different needs. Concrete and brick are typically more customizable than other options, but aren’t as resistant to inclement weather as steel. Wood is the most affordable pick, but it is more susceptible to rot, mildew, and heat than the others.

No, even if you have a vague idea of what you want, it’s a good idea to reach out to a contractor that specializes in outdoor kitchens for assistance. Professionals who have constructed kitchens for other homeowners can not only help you think about the functionality and convenience of your outdoor space—which many homeowners neglect—but they can also help you choose high-quality, durable materials that meet your budget and match the rest of your outdoor space. In fact, it’s often better to contact a contractor and get the ball rolling before you have a solidified plan for your outdoor kitchen.

Older research tells us that adding an outdoor pizza oven is unlikely to increase ROI. But thanks to an uptick in interest in this feature, it’s becoming increasingly likely that installing one will boost your home’s value by a small amount.

Outdoor kitchens enhance entertainment space, increase home value, and provide convenient cooking in outdoor settings.
