She has a breath of knowledge that allows her to accommodate my tastes, but also ensure that the overall design is in sync with the design and location of my home.  She has  a very diplomatic way of suggesting when I'm going astray with my choices and in every case where she has told me "Trust Me"  I have been delighted ! "I have a new home. It was finished a little over a year ago. The builder did a fine job and the kitchen was very nice for what I could afford at the time of construction. I love to cook and do so often for my family so after being settled in I decided to give myself a new gourmet kitchen with all the modern conveniences and bells and whistles. I called a few different contractors/designers and went through their designs and bids thoroughly. I decided to go with Ruxton Design and Build because their design was by far the best and it seemed I was getting more of those bells and whistles at a more reasonable cost. We began the process of selecting all my finishes back in November. I worked with their interior designer Michelle picking everything out, she made the process fun and exciting. The work began right after the Christmas holiday and finished two weeks ago. The work went smoothly and all the men arrived on time and ready to work every morning. They were there later than I expected some days in attempts to keep the schedule on track but I didn't mind because they were very pleasant and respectful. Frank was always available to answer any questions I had and came by often to check on progress. They exceeded my expectations and even did some extra's for me at no extra charge. I could not have asked for a more and would honestly recommend this company to anyone needed a new kitchen."

"Everything looks wonderful! Jeff came out and gave us a very good fair quote for the job. The job took about 5 days. The guys were all really friendly and cleaned up everyday after they were done. I know our house wasn't easy because of the age of the house(1910) and its many imperfections, but Jeff stuck to the cost quoted and lived up to their quality of service. Jeff told me colors such as red many times need an extra coat of paint and could increase the cost of the quote; makes sense. We choose to paint the kitchen red and Jeff was very honest and told me our kitchen only took the normal two coats of paint, never asking for additional money. Some companies would have taken advantage of the circumstance and charged the extra anyways. Jeff's wife Kimberly does interior design so you can work with them together. Kim, also gave us a great quote on the design work, however at this time we choose to only paint. Choose Delgavio and you will be a happy home owner!!!!"

"Although we have not moved forward yet to build our screened-in porch, James and his team at DesignBuilders will be the contractor I select when we do.  (Due to an unexpected health concern with a family member, we had to put our plans on hold.)   We want to add a 14? by 16? screened enclosure to our existing deck which is extremely high off of the ground.   While the other two contractors complained about this (one even charged extra for it) James was confident that he could build exactly what I wanted no matter what obstacles our location would present.
I interviewed three contractors for our project.   Their proposals all fell within $2000 of each other.  Yet James was by far the most professional and knowledgeable of the group.  The other two contractors merely pencil-drew their vision of the porch while James and his team provided a computer-aided design (cad cam) of the proposed porch.  When I called to set up the initial appointment, James asked me to first send him a few pictures of my project area, a site survey (plat), and a brief description of what my project entails. 
Jodie, his designer (who is amazing and very personable!) then used this information to set up an online meeting.  For those of you who have never experienced an online meeting, don?t let it intimidate you ? Jodie is so helpful; she will walk you right through it.  Jodie builds a sample design for your project so you can give instant feedback and make necessary design changes right on the spot.  The online meeting is a starting point.  Next is the site visit by James and his team, who, because of the preliminary online meeting, arrive with a good working knowledge of your project.   Unlike your average contractor, James is ahead of the game and can provide you with much more detail about what you can expect when the project is completed. 
Because my roof lines were so complicated, Jodie came to my home to make sure she had all of the information she needed.  Just like James, Jodie is very professional and very easy to talk to.  She immediately put me at ease.  The cad cam designs she prepared gave me a clear picture of the different roof options (gable, shed, flat, etc.).  They also showed how the porch would attach to my house from several points of view.  This gave me a very detailed picture of what the finished project would look like.  All contractors should offer this approach!  It allows you to tweak and modify the design to your exact specifications. 
Next Jodie, James and Edward (another awesome DesignBuilder team member) came to my house and spent more than an hour suggesting a variety of options and some alternative approaches for me to consider - some I would never have thought of. They came up with some excellent solutions to the problems associated with our complicated roofline issue.  We settled on a design that met all of my needs while keeping the project within my budget. 
When James sent me his proposal, I felt very confident that he included pricing for every stage of the project, with no hidden fees or surprises.  James and his team prepared two design options, each with detailed pricing and a cad cam picture of how the finished product would look.  I loved both options, so I have the flexibility to pick the one that best fits my needs when I?m ready to start the project.
James has several videos on YouTube (search ?James Moylan builder?) and at his website http://www.designbuildersmd.com  that show his building process from beginning to end.  These videos will clear up any doubts you might have about the quality of his work or his experience in the field.   His is extremely knowledgeable, his team offers the level of professionalism and comfortable communication that is very hard to find among builders and remodelers, and every person I?ve talked with DesignBuilders has shown a genuine interest in my building project. 
Without a doubt, when we are ready to move forward with our project, DesignBuilders will be the contractor we hire!

"I have a 90 year old house with a wooden screened in front porch. The previous painters had not prepared the porch well nor used quality paint. As a result, the columns were pealing down to bare wood and the porch was a general mess. Angelo power washed the porch and front foundation walls, scraped down the old paint and did a beautiful job repainting. He came when he said he would and was very efficient and clean. He guaranteed his work for a year and when my porch furniture pealed up some areas because it was too heavy to put on too fresh paint, Angelo came back and patched it up. I would highly recommend Angelo and will certainly use his services again.
