He discovered that the cause was a back yard drainage problem together with a failing internal foundation drainage system and drew up a price quote with detailed diagrams for a plan to remedy the situation. The crew started immediately, keeping within the scope of work and cost outlined in the price quote. They installed a back yard drainage system to control storm water and replaced the blocked portion of the foundation drainage system. They were very professional and quickly but carefully completed the work, leaving the site spotless. Since then the basement has remained dry during numerous heavy rain falls, even during the rapid snow melt with rain that occurred this past January. I would definitely recommend Archer Contractors for any yard drainage or basement waterproofing issues. "We have been working with Affordable for a couple of years now. To put it lightly, we have the basement from hell. When they arrived, we had some water in the basement and they quoted us based on their normal pricing. Once the concrete came up, we couldn't believe what we were dealing with. It is a constant flow of water that required two sump pits and an insane amount of work to install our drainage system. Every time they tried to dig a pit it would backfill with sand and water- they had to dig this up painstakingly- foot by foot. We thought for sure we were in for additional costs, but they stuck by the original estimate. Since then, any time we have had an issue or a question, they are quick to answer. Poor Kelly and Bobby probably recognize our number on the caller ID but whenever we make a call or send an email, we always get a response- usually with a visit on the same day. "On the morning the work was to be done, the people from Guardian came and began breaking up the concrete to put in the pipe to the pump. A while later, the people came who were going to remove the oil tank. They drained it and cut it in half in order to take it out the back basement door. Then the Guardian people continued their work and were finished the same day. (I was a bit concerned about the amount of fine dust that was in the gravel they surrounded the pipe with. I was worried it might clog the openings to the pipe. They told me it would wash away with the first heavy rain. This work was done about a year and a half ago and everything has been working fine.) They picked up when they left, so that the basement was as clean as could reasonably expected, considering the amount of work that had just gone on. The only hitch was that they couldn t get in contact with the electrician right away, I think he was out of town or something, but he came the next week and put an outlet in for the pump."
