He patiently and methodically examined all the potential sources of water entry while keeping suggested repairs to a minimum. He discovered that the cause was a back yard drainage problem together with a failing internal foundation drainage system and drew up a price quote with detailed diagrams for a plan to remedy the situation. The crew started immediately, keeping within the scope of work and cost outlined in the price quote. They installed a back yard drainage system to control storm water and replaced the blocked portion of the foundation drainage system. They were very professional and quickly but carefully completed the work, leaving the site spotless. Since then the basement has remained dry during numerous heavy rain falls, even during the rapid snow melt with rain that occurred this past January. When they arrived, we had some water in the basement and they quoted us based on their normal pricing. Once the concrete came up, we couldn't believe what we were dealing with. "On the morning the work was to be done, the people from Guardian came and began breaking up the concrete to put in the pipe to the pump. A while later, the people came who were going to remove the oil tank. They drained it and cut it in half in order to take it out the back basement door. Then the Guardian people continued their work and were finished the same day. (I was a bit concerned about the amount of fine dust that was in the gravel they surrounded the pipe with. I was worried it might clog the openings to the pipe. They told me it would wash away with the first heavy rain. This work was done about a year and a half ago and everything has been working fine.) They picked up when they left, so that the basement was as clean as could reasonably expected, considering the amount of work that had just gone on. The only hitch was that they couldn t get in contact with the electrician right away, I think he was out of town or something, but he came the next week and put an outlet in for the pump."
