"Once again Ballard did a great job. The tree was next to a split rail fence and a shed. The guys brought it down carefully a piece at a time. They worked extremely efficiently and cleaned up great when done. Will absolutely use again. Thanks Ballard."

"We hired them in the summer and in the winter because of the dead tree they missed the first time. They did a good job of getting the dead trees and limbs out, but they trampled multiple small plants that we had just planted and put their equipment on top of our delicate shrubs, even though we asked them not to. They moved our stones and put them on top of our newly planted herbs, destroying part of the herbs. They did replace one plant after I complained."

"Raul and his crew were an exceptional team. They cut the tree down, removed the wood and cleaned up the entire area. I personally spoke with Raul who was telling me that he would love to see neighborhoods, communities and local government plant more trees. Home builders wipe out entire landscape of trees and do not replace them. He told me to wait until the fall to plant the replacement tree. I would highly recommend K B landscaping to everyone. Great price and excellent service."

Customers say: Quick response

"I would highly recommend this awesome company to anyone that needs tree service. They were very prompt in calling me back after my initial phone call. That was not the case for 5 other companies. They performed the job in a very prompt and professional manner. Clean up was impeccable. I would give them 10 Stars if possible. Thank you Jose !"

"we were so extremely pleased and impressed with this company that we would not hesitate to recommend them. Everyone , starting with Jose was extremely pleasant, neat and courteous. They removed a large maple tree and trimmed and shaped a large Japanese Cherry tree. The job was done and our yard was left completely clean. Thanks for a "jpb well done" Bernadette & Ed"

"I have a lot of trees in my backyard many of which have died over the years. Recently two more died and one other appeared to be dying and I was thinking about calling a tree service. I was in a local car wash in January and Richard, wearing a shirt with his business logo, was there as well. I had seen his trucks in our neighborhood and and asked for his card, but he offered to come over right away. After inspecting my yard, he recommended removing two other trees as well - one was diseased and the other was leaning towards the house. We have had several trees come down over the years due to storms. He gave me a quote for the 5 trees ($2800.00). However, I decided to wait until spring to see if any other trees needed to be removed. I called him in early May and he came out again - I asked about taking a 6th tree down because it was also leaning towards the house. He also noted that a maple in front of my house was having some problems as well and recommended trimming and fertilization (which I have had to do previously over the years).
One thing about the county I live in is that if you live within a 1000' feet of the water, you need to get a permit to remove the trees. I have gotten bids from tree services in the past some have told me I did not need a permit, when in fact I did. Richard raised the issue (I did not have to ask) and he took care of getting the permit (there is no cost). It took about a week to obtain.
I have a somewhat steep slope down the side of my house to get to my back yard. When his crew came they laid down matting to protect the grass - they use a sort of mini-lift to get the larger cut-up tree trunk parts out. (I used a service a couple of years go who did not use mats and they really tore up the lawn). I was surprised that they were able to remove all 6 trees in a day - they showed up on time and worked until they finished and did a good job cleaning up - even my neighbors were impressed!

Arborists questions, answered by experts

It may not be worth it to rake every leaf in your yard, but it’s necessary to remove the majority of leaves to prevent them from smothering grass growth on your lawn. However, raking leaves isn’t your only option for leaf removal. You can remove leaves easily with a leaf blower or compost or mulch them with your lawn mower to repurpose them to help grow your garden or yard.

No, you should never top maple trees. Topping injures the tree and leads to the rapid growth of a weak canopy, which can be hazardous to rooftops and utility lines. Removing the crown can also leave the interior bark vulnerable to sun damage, leading to insects and disease. A topped tree can also reduce property value and permanently damage the appearance of a tree.

Your local government is usually in charge of pruning trees on public property, and the power company is responsible for trees near power lines (even if they’re on your property). Whether or not they top these trees depends on their approach to pruning. You won’t be able to do much to control this, but you can contact them to find out more about their pruning process.

Homeowners are usually not responsible for trees that fall on power lines. Power companies usually have utility easements around power lines, which give them the responsibility to maintain any trees within about 15 to 20 feet of the lines.

Yes, cutting a tree's roots can cause it to fall, particularly if major support roots are severed. In extreme cases, trimming roots can affect the tree's structure and stability. Many crucial roots are located just below the soil's surface. If you make severe cuts to roots more than 2 inches in diameter, you risk impacting the tree's water flow and its ability to withstand severe winds or storms. Even cutting roots less than half an inch in diameter under or outside the tree's canopy can cut off its water supply, causing it to decline, die, and eventually topple.
