"Not well. Abel did the landscaping which required blowing leaves off the property. He said he couldn't clean the gutters because they were too packed with leaves and dirt. That was fine. Where he stole from me was the mulching. When contracting the job, Abel said mulching would take the price from $225 to $300. I said fine. When he finished the landscaping I paid him the $300. However, we both forgot he neglected to put down the brown mulch I had ordered from him. I called him the next day. He apologized and said he would come back 2 days later. He no showed. I called him the next day and asked what happened. He again apologized and said he would be back 2 days later. Another no show. I called him again and left a message that he needed to return $75 or put down the mulch I contracted. He hasn't picked up any of my calls since. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ABEL TORREZ,"

We had a bit of a mess in our backyard: overgrown bushes, ivy and weeds everywhere, huge logs from a tree that was cut down years ago, crete myrtles that needed to reduce in size, and a fair sized dead tree that needed to be taken down. In the front we had some unruly azaleas and a weeping cherry tree that hung so low it was like going through nature's beaded curtain to get from the sidewalk to the house. I called Merino Landscaping on a Friday and spoke to Mr. Merino himself. Great timing because he was able to come out that afternoon (and wore a mask since we're still dealing with Covid-19 risks) to see what we needed and give us an estimate on the spot. We were very happy with the quote, which seemed reasonable and competitive. The Merino crew came the next Monday and did a great job. I had a little more ivy I wanted out and a couple more bushes to trim and they sent a couple guys out the next day to get it all done. They were on time, fast, efficient, affordable, easy to reach, and left no debris or mess. This is one of the easiest companies to deal with. Texts to Mr. Merino were quickly responded to. I will not think twice about using Merino Landscaping again for future needs."
