"Andre W. was here to do my annual service plan inspection. He introduced himself to get the morning started. He cleaned up pump system area afterwards and wore shoe covers. I appreciated him showing respect for my home very much. I was very happy with his response to all of my many questions. He continued to share with me all the steps as he worked thru the check up. He was very knowledgeable and appeared before time which was great. He made a few suggestions about projects for the future around the home. I will keep in mind and appreciated the advice. Thank you."

Windows questions, answered by experts

Typically, a bay window is, at minimum, 42 inches wide. That said, you can always design a custom bay window that is smaller—box bay windows are usually less than three feet in width and are ideal for smaller spaces.

To ensure the longevity and smooth functioning of new windows, regular maintenance is essential. This includes cleaning the glass and frames, inspecting seals for leaks or damage, and reapplying caulking as needed. It is also important to lubricate all moving parts and operating mechanisms to ensure they continue to operate smoothly.

Impact windows are absolutely worth the money if you live in an area prone to hurricanes. Though expensive, impact windows are built to withstand hurricane winds up to 200 mph and theoretically won’t break even if flying debris, such as mailboxes and lawn chairs, is smacked against the glass. A single broken window during a hurricane can destabilize the pressure inside your home, which can cause walls and the roof to collapse.

Yes, you can absolutely put a screen on a casement window, and most casement windows come with screens. Unlike with a double-hung, single-hung, or sliding window, the screen in a casement window sits on the inside of the window so that the sash can freely open outward. Screens are especially important for casement windows because the large window opening the window provides leaves your home more open to bugs and outside debris than most other types of operable windows.

Glass block windows offer several unique benefits over traditional windows, and they create a much more unique look. These specialty windows offer added privacy while allowing natural light into the space, which is why they’re a popular choice for bathroom features. They also provide increased security as glass blocks do not open unlike traditional windows. Plus, they provide increased energy efficiency, lowering energy costs and preventing drafts.
