"Great company! I initially wanted only sealing done but after talking to Blake, I decided to get the whole driveway repaved as I had cracks that I knew would cause issues later. THe guys were great. Never stopped working once they started and finished in a few hours. Driveway not only looks great but is clean. I highly recommend this company!"

"12-27-22, Mickey's Asphalt Company asphalted my driveway and my car-pad. The Six men worked together perfectly. They laid the asphalt very carefully around my 12 holly bushes bordering my driveway. Afterwards, they put the grass back that bordered my car-pad. Two men cleaned off my front porch. They cleaned up all debris in the street. Mickey (the owner), Nick (foreman) and Salena were very respectful to me. This job was worth the money! I referred this company to (2) of my neighbors."

"Central seal coating, and mowing is owned and operated by Travis Wilson. Licensed and insured company. We Couldn’t be more happier! Driveway and parking lot looks great. Travis was very thorough with his explanation for work he was performing am my residence. Travis and his employees are very respectful, honest and hard-working. Central seal coating and mowing does exceptional work. Travis is an independent owner/operator contractor, who funds all of his own materials prior to it being done. He just asked to be paid when the job is complete and you’re satisfied with central sealcoating and mowings work. He guarantees his work and stands behind it. Central sealcoating and mowing was very professional. Don’t expect to pay a fortune to have work performed by central Sealcoating & mowing.I recommend central seal coating in mowing for all your asphalt needs"

"First time I'd done seal coating but I'm selling the home and the driveway was way past it's prime and had many large cracks. I thankfully did not have time to do it myself so I looked at reviews and called a couple. Frank SR is who I talked to and he impressed me with answers to my questions and then worked with me to be flexible on when to do it as I needed to powerwash and clean some really bad areas first. Finally his son Fank J came to do the work and did an excellent job. The thickness and quality of the sealer they use is MUCH better than the do it yourself stuff. When done, amazingly, around 90 pct of the big cracks I had not had time to fill were gone! I will patch he few remaining very large ones with cold patch asphalt repair as they are not really cracks. If I had done sealcoating with them previously I am pretty sure my driveway would no be in this bad a shape-but the seal coating did a remarkable job filling cracks and making he asphalt look in good shape again. I am very glad I picked them to do the work and would do so again for any asphal/paving. Price was very reasonable at around twice what it would cost me to have done it myself so it was only a few hundred more, I didn't have to do he work, and most importantly the result was far better due to the quality of the materials used and it's expert application laying it on thickly."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

A new asphalt paving project significantly improves winter living in Cumberland by creating a smooth, properly graded surface that is easier for snow removal and safer to navigate in icy conditions. It enhances curb appeal, which is important in the area's established neighborhoods, and protects your vehicles from damage caused by potholes. Proper drainage also prevents water accumulation and ice dams near your home's foundation.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Cumberland, MD, often make the mistake of paving too late in the fall or too early in the spring when temperatures are below 50°F, which prevents proper curing. Another common error is underestimating the need for extensive base preparation due to the area's hilly terrain and clay-heavy soils. Failing to plan for adequate drainage to handle significant rainfall is also a critical oversight.

Helpful?

In Cumberland, MD, immediate asphalt paving is necessary for safety hazards like cracks wider than ¼ inch or potholes deeper than two inches. You should also act quickly if you see standing water, as this can cause severe damage during freeze-thaw cycles. Minor issues like hairline cracks or slight fading can wait, but monitor them closely. The best time for paving is between May and September.

Helpful?

Postponing asphalt paving in Cumberland exposes your driveway to accelerated damage from harsh winters and freeze-thaw cycles, turning small cracks into large potholes. Water penetrating the surface can compromise the base layer in the region's clay soil, leading to more expensive replacement projects instead of simple repairs. This delay also increases liability risks from slips and falls on icy, uneven surfaces during winter months.

Helpful?

Homeowners in MD often underestimate the short seasonal window for asphalt paving, which runs from May to September, leading to booking challenges with qualified contractors. The complexity of creating proper drainage on hilly terrain and the need for extra base preparation for the region's clay-heavy soils are also frequently overlooked. Additionally, planning should account for potential weather delays and time for any necessary city permits.
