Don Kuestner's Hardwood Floors

Don did an awesome job. Our floors were super dark, he sanded them down to their nature color and refinished them. Don also patched an area by the island that was tiled and you can’t tell it was patched. He is hardworking, knowledgeable, honest and truthful. We would definitely hire him again.

We removed the carpet on the 2nd and third floors in an 1870s house and found the hardwood in a variety of conditions, some with paints, a few bad spots etc. Don took them all back to their original beauty. The difference is amazing and it adds incredible value to the house. We highly recommend working with Don.

Don was absolutely amazing! He did a FANTASTIC job with our floors. We originally hired him to refinish existing hardwood floors in a home we had just purchased and upon his arrival we were sad to discover the hardwood was only in 2 rooms of the house. He was very helpful in coming up with an alternative solution to lay laminate flooring and instructed us on the best quality products to purchase. His years of experience are clearly reflected in his excellent work which he takes pride in. He was prompt, completed the project on time and came in under the cost estimate. He is the best contractor we have ever worked with and I would hire him a million times over!

If you ever need any work done on your wood floors or need wood floors installed, Don is your guy! We had some water damage on a section of our wood floor and started searching for someone to help us. How fortunate we were to find Don! He tore out the damaged flooring, replaced it with matching wood and then sanded off the finish from all of our wood floors...including our stairs!... to make it all match. The results are even better than we had ever hoped for! Don was professional, punctual, easy to work with, listened to what we wanted, worked hard to finish on schedule and left our home cleaner than when he arrived. We are thrilled with our new floors! I've been renovating my home and have dealt with MANY contractors. Many were good. None exceeded the workmanship done by this guy. He's nice, honest, and professional. He's been doing hardwood for 35 years and his knowledge of his trade is evident in his finished product! Not only does he show up when he says, Don listens to exactly what is going on and offers suggestions to meet your need without compromising pristine quality. In addition to replacing some areas with LVT, he refinished all my hardwood flooring. Additionally, he tore up some old vinyl and laid hardwood which required him to leaf into the existing hardwood. My floors were in really rough shape and they are now B-R-E-A-T-H-T-A-K-I-N-G...and that leaf job is FLAWLESS. You cannot tell it is not original!!! I have already recommended Don to our nephew who is building a new home. In fact, I told our nephew THIS IS YOUR GUY. You'll be sorry if you don't use him. His work is truly that spectacular. We are moving out of the area and I wish I could coax him to make a trip to our new town to refinish the floors in our new home! He's THAT guy.

Our cabin was flooded and the hardwood floor ruined. Don came out right away and not only gave a fair estimate, he removed the ruined floor within days to save the subfloor. I had to manage the project long distance and was perfectly comfortable giving Don the lockbox code to our cabin. He followed through on everything he said he would do in a timely manner. Don was careful with the baseboard and was able to reinstall and save us the cost of buying new. The new floor is gorgeous! This was an emotional and difficult time for us made easier by Don Kuestner. It's been a pleasure doing business with Don and I would use him again in a second.

We live in a house has 1771 on the top corner, and most people who come and work, get very frustrated with the "unintended" consequences that erupt. I hate carpet now, and wanted to remove it on the log cabin side, I was prepared to buy the hardwood from the store, but Don came and encouraged me to use the existing floor-despite missing boards and nail heads peaking out. I contacted him by phone in March, he followed up with me a few weeks before his scheduled time, and again called a few days before coming. I was already getting nervous as we were very busy-nonetheless, he did it as he said, despite our lack of ac, handled a pipe burst, and 6 granddaughters running around the house. He was able to find boards in the barn to make it work, and everyone is astounded by the beauty of the room. I highly recommend him, and I am tempted to have the rest of the house done, but too busy at the moment!

Don did an amazing job. He was able to perfectly match the existing flooring in the hallways with the new flooring in the bedrooms. Ditto with the flooring in the family room with the flooring in the kitchen. It looks utterly amazing. Don was so professional. He came to the house with a binder of his work for me to review, he was on-time, and he was very pleasant and respectful. The pricing for the job was very reasonable and he provided an estimate for various options we were considering. He completed the work in the estimated times and cleaned the ENTIRE house so that there wouldn't be any sawdust or residue. I can't recommend Don highly enough. He's awesome!

I would recommend Don Kuestner to EVERYONE!!!!! He showed up when he said he would be arriving, did everything he said he would, very experienced, super friendly, explained each process and the BEST part there was no mess for me to clean up after he left which was a HUGE plus for me. Our floors look magnificent. It's like we just built the house all over again. There was little to no smell and didn't effect us staying in our home.

Don did a very good job. We moved the little furniture we had move in off the floors and cleared out rugs/appliances that were left so he could access the wood under them. He sent pictures each day showing progress and the final result. He sanded the entire area, filled some cracks per our discussion, and put four coats of clear/satin finish down. He completed the job on time, provided information on curing and how to avoid scratches on moving furniture and rugs in. We are very pleased with job and will use him again if the need arises.

Don was great to work with from the initial phone conversation to the completion of the job. I live 500 miles from the house in which the floors had to be refinished so choosing a contractor and ensuring they do a good job is pretty difficult. Don was very accommodating in scheduling the estimate since it could only be when someone was going to be at the house. He provided the written estimate within the same day he came to the house in addition to calling me about the estimate. Don started work on the scheduled day and sent me pictures every day on the progress he had made refinishing the floors. The finished floors look wonderful in the pictures he sent and I am confident that they will look even better in person. Don was great to work with, very punctual, professional and I am going to recommend his company to our homeowners association as well as to anyone I know who could use his services at some time.
