Best window and door contractors near Colesville, MD

"Bottom Line: This is the first time we have used this company, and they did excellent work for a reasonable price, and more importantly, built a huge amount of trust with the customer. Communication: Scheduling the initial estimate was easy, but the back-and-forth communication required to finalize the many detailed options was a bit slow; however, the owner Scott Halle interceded and timely communication continued throughout the rest of the process. Scoping Work: This is where Zen Windows really excels, primarily because of the vast knowledge of James Bond. We wanted to replace the single door with side transoms with something that would maximize the opening space. James expertly walked us through the options with cost and wall modification comparisons. In addition, the header above the current door was swelling and pinning the door, and James evaluated the issue, likely water seeping down from an unflashed deck, and provided peace of mind his guys could fix it on site during installation. Quality of Work: Frankly, 75-80% of contractors fail here for three primary reasons: a horrible handoff from the product specialist to the onsite project foreman, project foreman and workers making assumptions about details vice asking the customer, and lack of quality detailed work. The foreman excelled in these areas ensuring we were on the same page for various details such as casing, caulking, and external trim. In addition, he completely replaced the rotted wood structure above and along the sides of the door and added customer-provided insulation where there were gaps. To keep the project on track, they brought in another expert worker and management arrived to ensure the quality of work was high. The end product was beautiful. Pricing: Price was the best of three highly ranked Angie’s List companies. Zen Windows’ expertise, willingness to explain the details of the project, timely communication, and excellent work took the hassle out of this project."

"They were so easy to work with and extremely accommodating! We love our windows , front door and sliders. Price was right compared to others. Highly recommend."

"Kenny and team were amazing to work with - professional, polite, honest, and finished the project ahead of schedule and at a very fair price. We had two old single pane windows replaced in our basement (which may have been 50+ years old), and a new window well installed. The work was very well done. I have since recommended Clifton to multiple friends and other contractors. Five stars."

"Mr. Cooper was incredibly responsive to my request for a patio screen door repair. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept us informed throughout the process. The repair he performed on our screen door was EXCEPTIONAL and was promptly completed. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a reliable and experienced window/door professional. I?ll definitely reach out to him again if I ever need another project."

"We hired ARHT Home Solutions to do multiple projects for our home. We originally hired them to do a roof, siding and windows a couple of years ago and was extremely pleased with ARHT services We have returned as a customer to our surprise to install kitchen lighting for our cabinets as we didn’t know ARHT provided this, meanwhile while Michael consulted for us we found a need to hire them to install a new front door. We had just installed the same door three years ago. However, we needed the entire framing replaced along with a door. The installers found while they we’re installing it, rotted wood on our floor just starting to get into our home underneath our newly installed tile flooring. We are so happy to have had them consult for us otherwise we would have never known that we had an ant infestation. The door looks amazing and is very heavy duty. Its Brilliantly red the way I like it They installed custom hand railing for our steps that was approved by the HOA requirements- amazing ! Also we had multiple contractors out here looking at our chimney which was a sieve for air and had during the winter cold air coming in. ARHT took care of this issue as well, where no one else was able to do so. It has dropped five degrees within an hour as we used a thermometer to test it after they left during the hot summer. All in all we couldn’t recommend them enough. If we had more projects we would provide it to them, however we’ve taken care of everything else at this point."

"Excellent work. The person who assisted us was gruff and no-nonsense, but professional. He asked that we send a photo of the window, which we did. He then came out and measured the window. He came back a couple of days later, and completed the work. The window looks fantastic, and we are very pleased with his work."

"This company is first rate. I had used Unicorp several years ago to re-roof our old house, before we moved. They did a great job then, and after we moved 3 years ago to another house, I found out they also did window replacements, so I called on them again. We had them replace several windows at our current home. The work was done on-time, as promised. We are very pleased with the quality and installation of our new windows. The work was done neatly, and on-time as-scheduled."

"The Premier Windows and Glass has provided an excellent service for me! A frame of one of the windows in my condo was broken, and I looked for a company that would fix it and prolong the life of the window. So, I was very happy to discover The Premier Windows and Glass. Their technician was very polite, professional, and knowledgeable. Not only did he do a quality job on fixing the frame, but he also explained to me what needs to be done to prevent the window from breaking down again and avoid paying a lot of money for its replacement. In addition, the manager and technician responded to my service request in a prompt manner. The problem was solved on the day when I called the company. Last but not least, the company offers competitive service rates and does not push people to spend more money than is absolutely necessary. I would strongly recommend this company to anyone who needs a window to be fixed or replaced."

"I was impressed from my very first contact with Nova Exteriors. I didn’t have to wait for an in-person meeting, as Eric sent me a link with tons of storm door options, so I could look over everything with absolutely no sales pressure. Within an hour or two of our first email correspondence, I had selected my new doors and hardware. This alone put them above the other companies I reached out to. Beyond that, though, the actual door installation was prompt and efficient. The installers were friendly and knowledgeable with great pride in their work. I’m thrilled with absolutely everything, and I am completely in love with my new storm doors. I highly recommend these guys!! A++++"

"If you need a door repaired, hire Dexter. He was absolutely professional from start to finish, incredibly humble, and his pricing was more than fair. He diagnosed the issue quickly and fixed it right the first time without trying to upsell me on anything unnecessary. Honest, high-quality work is hard to come by—I will definitely be calling him again if I need anything else."
