What looked to be a simple repair became much more complicated and difficult as he began the repairs, but he still completed the job, with stellar results, ahead of schedule by working *outside* through a torrential downpour. He was professional and clearly dedicated to doing the job correctly, not just quickly. He even fixed a couple of minor things around the area that weren't entirely part of the job, but were easy fixes.
