"Armour entered into a Basement Contract with Mrs. B on 12/20/19 after modifying the scope to meet their needs and budget. After Mrs. B requested to postpone the original start date (needed more time to get their selections/materials purchased per the contract), we received an email indicating that that they were ordering their tile on 03/03/20 and would contact us once it arrives so we can reschedule their start date. The morning of 03/04/20 we received a phone call from Mrs. B (over 2.5 months from the date of contract and just approx., 2 weeks from starting) that they needed to cancel this project as they were experiencing financing difficulties. On 03/05/20 we received an email from Mr. B following up with their cancellation request indicating that "they are going through some serious marital issues right now and are making some living situation changes that will result in no need to finish a bedroom in the basement. With these changes, money is extremely tight for our family right now". This cancellation had nothing to do with the scope of the project as they stated. Armour responded via email indicating that we received their cancellation request (they breached the terms of the contract, having 3 days to cancel from the date of the contract to receive a full deposit refund) but that we would review their file and asses all expenses paid to date (such as architectural plans for permit, administrative cost and material cost etc., to date). Unfortunately shortly after their request to cancel and waiting for an invoice by our Architect as his and our office had to close due to Covid-19, this review was forced to be put on hold. We continued to receive daily texts and threats from Mr. B during our closure asking for their deposit refund. Armour responded to them once our office re-opened for business. Per the contract terms, Armour is entitled to 55% of the total contract price if canceled after 3 business days from the date of the contract which exceeds their deposit amount. However, due to their financial and marriage circumstances Armour is trying to honor them with a portion of their deposit less the expenses that Armour had occured in order to help them out. Mr. and Mrs. B continue to threat and post false statements against Armour. On 07/14/20 we received a phone message from Mrs. B. asking us to use some of their deposit money to do some mantel work in their home. As you can see these Customers are dishonest and we have no interest in working with dishonest people. Armour has been in business for over 19 years and take pride of our customer service, installers, workmanship, relationships etc.. Armour has all ongoing emails, texts and phone messages on record/file. Thank you."
"We are very surprised to see this negative review/comment as Armour went over and beyond to get approval by her Insurance Company for additional work than what was included in the original scope. Further, Mrs. G. [Consumer name withheld at their request ]old Armour that she was very happy with everything as well as to crew members after all work was completed. When it was time to pay her final balance; Mrs. G. refused and said that she was not satisfied with the quality of the carpet installed. Mrs. G. selected the carpet that was within her allowance per the Insurance Scope (replaced at same quality/value as what was installed prior to the water damage). We have no control over the Insurance value and will not commit Insurance Fraud to replace with higher quality/value to improve the value of her home. If Mrs. G. wanted higher quality grade carpet than what she had to improve her home value then she could have selected higher grade carpet and paid the difference out of her pocket once cost was quoted but this was never mentioned at the time of her selection, order or installation. Armour had no alternative but to forward this matter over to collections and to contact the Maryland Insurance Fraud Department as funds were released to Mrs. G. on behalf of Armour to perform the Insurance work which was completed per the scope."
"This Customer is a scam artist and will not pay his bill per his contract. He would call and email 5 times or more a day including weekends and evening hours. He was very rude and disrespectful. We even replied after hours as best as we could cause he was not going to stop and contact us during business hours. He will tell you what the cost should be even though all cost are listed in contract and agreed to pay this amount. He decided not to move forth with a shower bench in his shower so we applied credit for material and labor for this per contract charge he was billed for but he told us what the cost should be even though it was 3x the cosT."
"(consumer name withheld per their request) cancelled the contract without cause and she was refunded $8,228.00 dollars. Armour Home Improvement had commenced excavation when (consumer name withheld per their request) cancelled the contract. (consumer name withheld per their request)has previously filed with The Maryland Home Improvement Commission which took no action on her accusations. She also filed with the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General's Office which took no action on her accusations. She is entitled to her opinion however the facts shows that the permit was delayed in the Permitting Office in Carroll County not through any action of Armour Home Improvement. Armour stands by our work and our Customers. Armour Home Improvement Inc."
