"Certified roofing did very well. They were the first to respond to my Angi query. Tim was smart, quick, and had an excellent work ethic. We had a slight miscommunication on what the job entailed, which is being cleared up as we speak. I would definitely hire them again."

"I’m going to begin this review by saying, I have never hired someone to do a job on my house where I have been completely satisfied with the labor and the finished product. Until now. I just hired a company to remove my existing shingle roof and replace it. Not only is the finished product of excellent quality, but the technicians were extremely diligent in making sure everything was done with precision. The entire job even down to the clean up afterwards is outstanding…. I highly recommend Coxs Roofing and I will be using them whenever I need roofing work done. Oh! And they also had the best price quote out of three estimates I received. 1121 Roland Heights Ave. 21211"

"There's nothing worse that dealing with pooring rain and strong winds and then hearing the drip, drip sound of water coming into your home due to a damaged roof. I reached out to roofing repair companies through Angie's list and Roofing Pups responded. Marcus came out the next day and put my fears at ease. The bad news was that I needed a new roof. He showed me my options available, categorized as "good", "better" and "best". Despite my choosing the lowest option, he still threw in some discounts and upgrades at no additional cost. I signed the contract and he arranged for someone to come out at tarp my roof. He even went the extra mile of going to Home Depot and setting up buckets in my attic to catch the water still coming in. The roofing crew came out two days later and gave me a beautiful new roof. They then meticulously cleaned the area. It was great working with Roofing Pups. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Homeowners in Catonsville should factor in the region’s variable weather, including heavy summer storms and winter snow, which can impact scheduling and material selection. Tree coverage may increase debris and moss buildup, while sloped lots affect drainage solutions. Some neighborhoods enforce HOA or historic district guidelines on roofing materials and colors, so always confirm local requirements before starting your project.

Helpful?

In Catonsville, roofing contractors often specialize by material—such as asphalt shingles, metal, slate, tile, or flat roofing systems. Some focus on storm restoration or insurance claims, while others have expertise in historic home roofing or eco-friendly options like cool roofs. Choosing a contractor with experience in your specific roof type ensures proper installation, code compliance, and long-term durability for your Catonsville home.

Helpful?

Roofing in Catonsville benefits from seasonal inspections—checking for storm, wind, or tree damage in spring and fall, monitoring attic ventilation in summer, and watching for ice dams in winter. Regular gutter cleaning, prompt repair of minor leaks, and trimming overhanging branches are essential. Maintenance needs vary by material, but annual professional assessments help extend your roof’s lifespan in Catonsville’s climate.

Helpful?

Completing a roofing project in Catonsville offers immediate protection from leaks and weather, along with improved energy efficiency due to better insulation and ventilation. Over time, a new roof helps preserve your home’s structure, enhances property value, and can reduce maintenance needs. Modern roofing materials also resist mold and storm damage, supporting long-term durability and peace of mind for homeowners.

Helpful?

In Catonsville, unexpected costs can arise from uncovering damaged roof decking, rotted rafters, or compromised flashing once old materials are removed. Upgrades to meet current ventilation or insulation standards may be necessary, especially in older homes. Weather-related delays can extend project timelines, and permit or inspection fees are often required. Planning for these contingencies helps prevent surprises during your roofing project.
