"SECURITY WINDOWS AND DOORS: I have spent a LOT of money putting in security windows and door as my home has been broken into many times while Charlie was here. I have had 2 companies, a local was fantastic but expensive yet worth it. They can no longer find someone to make security windows After contacting others who stopped calling (Medallion) when the 3 window job looked not worth the effort, I found Michael Byers on HOMEADVISOR/Angie's List. It is in Gaithersburg; he came right away to measure my windows; he special made one window for the cats so they can get their fat butts through. Windows are usually about $650 each but he charged $1000 for 3 windows and installation -- and they are the fancy windows. I was shocked and they were installed within a week. He has a factory where he makes the doors and windows himself. My HD door lacks were awful. On 3 doors, he installed new deadbolt and handle locks for a little over $200 -- including installation. The doors lock wonderfully and I have the same key for all of the locks. His number is 301-252-5117. With so many break-ins in my area, security windows and doors are now affordable."

"I had a full view glass storm door with sidelites installed in front of my Provia entry front door. The door is very sturdy such as thick heavy metal, lexan glass is clear, the hinges are smooth and strong, the lock is secure, the powder coated paint is beauty. the weather striping is robust and tightly sealed. The manufacturing process took a little longer than expected. A minor adjusted was needed for the lock. Medallion sent someone out immediately to solve the problem. My Provia Front entry door is awesome. I really wanted a full view security storm door to allow the Provia door to be on full display. In addition, to providing full security. Medallion knock it out of the park."

"JL Smith is our go to contractor. He has brought our 50 year old house into the 21st century. Over a few years he has remodeled our: basement, kitchen, master bath, hall bath and foyer. Additionally, he painted the rooms on our main floor, replaced all the interior doors and hardware and upgraded our electrical system. We didn’t want just a cosmetic redo. We wanted our house to be ready to carry us through retirement with minimal issues. So our renovations were from the studs out. This included plumbing, electrical, wall insulation and termite repair. "It went great!! He fixed my dishwasher that was not mounted to the counter or cabinets. And caused the water supply hose to kink. He built it up with plywood to make level and secured it to cabinets and counter. He hung a bamboo Roman shade above the kitchen sink. And fixed a ceiling fan light that was not working. He’s pleasant and very knowledgeable. Will use Harry again. A few neighbors recommended him. They all love him too!!"

"Cesar and Richard did an excellent job on the repairs to the walls in my main bathroom and a bedroom. They painted the ceiling, walls and the trim. They also were able to better secure the plumbing access panel with magnets and a handle, so it stays firmly in place and looks much better. They also replaced the bathroom fan and caulked the tub (which was not part of the original scope of work). They were punctual and worked hard to finish the repairs within the time that Josh estimated. Overall, a great experience."
