"I originally found out about this company, SONERGY USA, as I had to have the inverters replaced for an existing solar panel setup I had. The folks I interacted with were amazing and extremely professional. They were able to take care of the repairs right away, but more importantly they fixed some items the original solar panel installer did not do properly. I was so impressed by the work SONERGY USA did with the repairs that I eventually moved forward to get additional panels installed and even a battery installed. Again SONERGY USA did not disappoint. Everything was professional and done properly. Most of all the communication with the team was amazing where I did not have to babysit them or waste time off from work in order to get the work completed. SONERGY USA stuck to the timeline as well. which I greatly appreciated."

"Technician was very helpful and honest about the work he needed to do and the things he noticed that would need work in the future. Unfortunately, it was quite expensive, but it was more than I could accomplish myself."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

The average cost to install solar panels is around $27,000, with most homeowners paying between $4,500 and $54,000. These prices don’t consider the federal investment tax credit (ITC), which can reduce costs by up to 30%. The final price depends on several factors, including the size of the system needed to offset your energy consumption, the amount of sunlight your home receives, your geographical location, the type and brand of panels, labor costs, and any add-on products like solar batteries or electric vehicle (EV) chargers. It is recommended to get price quotes from at least three solar companies in your area to find the best deal.

Solar roofing shingles may qualify for significant federal tax incentives through programs like the Residential Clean Energy Credit, which offers up to 30% of installation costs through 2032. State and local governments often provide additional credits, and utility companies may offer further rebates or net metering programs, depending on the state. Just look into the qualification requirements beforehand because installation, documentation, and technical standards can impact eligibility. Consult the current guidelines and a tax professional to maximize available benefits.

Professionals use the same methods to install solar shingles that they do for asphalt shingles, so you’ll often see a similar installation timeline of one to two days. The amount of time required will depend on the size and slope of your roof and the number of shingles installed. Weather conditions can delay installation, as working on a roof is unsafe during high winds or heavy rain.

Yes, you have to get on the roof to cut a hole for solar tubing. It's not possible to complete the job from inside your house by simply cutting through the ceiling. So if you want to go the DIY route, remember to use safe ladder practices. If you’re not comfortable climbing on your roof to install solar tubes, hire a pro who has the tools and expertise to do the job safely.

The average homeowner needs around 22 solar panels, but the exact number depends on your monthly energy consumption. Your solar professional should size your array to offset your consumption, meaning you’ll need fewer panels if you use below-average amounts of electricity, or more than 22 if you use above-average amounts of electricity. The number of panels also depends on the output of each panel. The average is around 400 watts, but you might need more panels if you install less capable equipment. Since there are so many variables, you should have a professional size your system.
