He was pretty much in the middle of the ballpark with price, but I got the feeling from him that he would do whatever it took to make the job come out right, and he did. The first day they completely demolished the old driveway and patio and got rid of all the debris. Then, it rained for a week. They came and worked whenever the rain permitted them to. They still got done in a timely manor in spite of the rain. John had his crew do a few extra things for me during the job so that everything would be perfect. The results are terrific. "I needed a landscaper because my lawn was a mess (more weeds and moss than grass, it seemed), and water was seeping into the basement because of improper gutter drainage and soil grading. Oh, and there was a critter, possibly the skunk that was seen in the area, burrowing underground where there was a gap near my patio – ugh! I hired M&L because the quote was reasonably priced, and Leo was responsive, understanding and cooperative as my landscaping project evolved. The job he ended up doing included building a trench for the gutter downflow, re-grading the entire lawn, creating flowerbeds, installing a fence, doing concrete work (to keep that critter out!), and paving a small section of the yard to hold trash and recycling bins. Leo and his team showed up when they said they would, worked quickly and efficiently, and with the greatest attitude – all of them were hard-working and easy to deal with. Bob Muldoon responded to my request for the estimate, was very informative and addressed all questions. He also indicated that my city does require a permit and he would ensure that the necessary paperwork was completed and in good order (which he did).
His team were extremely efficient as they removed the prior driveway, it was evident that they work well together and within two days - I had a drive way which was sloped well, improved the apppearance and function of my home and I am confident will last another 65 years (if cared for as advised by Muldoon Paving). I was provided written instructions as to how to care for my driveway including advise to seal it after 12 months (who knew?).
