"The tile shower in our master bedroom was leaking through to the ceiling of the floor below. Based on Angies list reviews, we contacted Wes at S&W tile by email on a weekday evening and had a response back from him early the next morning. He explained that these issues are usually caused by the shower not being waterproofed correctly at the start - eventually resulting in the leaks. We had guests coming for a visit in a couple weeks and wanted to try to get the problem corrected before they arrived. Wes was able to come out and assess the issue for us, and give us a proposal within 2 days. There is a $75 fee for this that is then applied against the job if you proceed. After the assessment Wes confirmed that the original shower waterproofing had failed. He gave us a proposal to rip out the old shower and install a new, correctly waterproofed tile shower. The quote does not include materials. Wes will let you know the quantities that you will need and you select and source these yourself. The original quote also assumes the use of ceramic tile and includes no extras, like niches, marble seats etc. We decided to proceed and they were able to fit us in a week and a half later. We ended up using porcelain and stone tile and going with one niche, and Wes revised the quote on that basis. All things considered, the job went very smoothly. They ripped out the old shower on the first day and found that the original installation had been poorly done. We ended up replacing the subfloor under the shower as a result of the damage. Wes and his team handled this very quickly. The entire job was completed in three and a half days. The results are really beautiful. Also they also did a good job with clean-up during the project and after it was complete. A few things to keep in mind. Wes and his team specialize in the demolition and installation of the waterproofing and tile for the new shower. You are the designer. If there are other issues (e.g. plumbing, mold, etc.) you may need to bring in other resources. As an example, we chose to repair the downstairs ceiling drywall damage ourselves. If we had not wanted to do that, we would have needed to hire a second contractor for that. After the completion of the tile we contacted another company to install a new glass door. The other point is that when you are replacing a tile shower in an existing bathroom, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to find new tile to match what is there now. So there will be places in the bathroom where the new has to meet up with the old. You should think about this as you are selecting your materials, considering your design etc. Wes does these jobs every day and will present you with options, but at the end of the day you will need to make decisions that will yield a result that you are happy with. We spent a lot of time during our project thinking through how we would deal with these sorts of issues. I highly recommend S&W. We will use them again."

From start to finish, it was evident that customer satisfaction was not their priority. First and foremost, the installation crew left an appalling mess behind. Chunks of the old countertop, dust, and debris were scattered all over my cabinets, creating a huge inconvenience and a considerable cleanup task for me. To make matters worse, they took crucial components required to hook back up our plumbing with them and never returned our calls when we inquired about it. We even sought assistance from Home Depot, but they too failed to elicit a response from Hallmark Stone for three long days. Dealing with them prior to the installation was no better. Their communication was incredibly terse, and they seemed disinterested in addressing our concerns or questions. The lack of customer focus was evident, leaving us feeling ignored and undervalued. The most alarming part of this entire ordeal was discovering dangerous tools left in our cabinets. Among them was a cutter similar to a razor blade. What if a child had found it before we did? This level of negligence is unacceptable and puts people's safety at risk and on top of that I still have no working plumbing. I highly advise potential customers to think twice before considering Hallmark Stone for any service. They have shown a complete lack of professionalism, safety awareness, and basic customer care. I would strongly suggest exploring other options for your countertop needs to avoid the frustration and potential hazards we encountered."
