"So here's the thing: I'm picky. Not normal picky. OCD-level picky with psychosis-level picky layered on top. I also have very specific tastes. For instance, I prefer huge, large format tile over regular size tile. Even if that means it's three times more difficult to put up on the walls. All the way to the ceiling. With a 1/16th grout gap. Not 1/8th, 1/16th! Anyway, when I decided to undergo a major remodel of my home, I knew whichever contractor I chose would have their work cut out for them. Enter Edian and Alexis Home Remodeling. Edian is a straight talking, candid man who speaks his mind. The kind of guy who could trigger the more sensitive among us. Fortunately, that's not me. After we both got to know each other, we both realized the end result is what mattered most. The main focuses of the project were a gut remodel of the kitchen, transforming an upstairs bonus room into a bathroom, and structural work on the upstairs principal bedroom to raise the interior dormer entrance heights and reinforce the roof. It was all done with a high level of professionalism and quality, even when the inevitable surprises popped up (eg. the previous owner put down the old kitchen floor tile with plain old cement, which required days of jackhammering). Sure, Edian questioned some of my design choices ("who tiles all four walls of the kitchen?"), but in the end, the results are stunning. It took longer than either of us expected, partly because of the "surprises," partly because of my pickiness, and partly because adding a secret door in the kitchen isn't as simple as it sounds. We did a kitchen renovation, including design and construction, with them in 2024 and the process was quick, the team was extremely communicative, and the end product is gorgeous! In October 2023, we started the design process with them to see what would be possible with our kitchen area that was out-of-date and not functional for our family.Eric Curtice came by a few times to do thorough measurements of our space in order to render some designs for us to look through. Scott, the owner, gave us a breakdown of costs; he was very practical about what he thought was important and what was not, balancing need with price. It was so refreshing to get such a granular view of exact costs before diving into a renovation project. After design, we decided to go forth with construction, which kicked off in early January 2024. Scott's team set us up a temporary kitchen (including a dishwasher) which made living under construction so easy. The project manager, Shawn, was there every single weekday, and Scott came at the start of most weeks to check on progress. The Curtice Group team were incredibly communicative the entire time, giving us updates via email about timeline and costs. We were done with our project by mid-March (just 2.5 months!) and we're thrilled with the end result. Even better, we came in a little under budget. You should absolutely hire this group. We'll definitely be calling them for future projects!"

"Master Bathroom Remodel. Last fall we decided to remodel our master bathroom. The original design was implemented in the early 90’s and included a huge jacuzzi tub, but with todays higher cost of living and efforts to conserve our natural resources, it was no longer practical. Also, the small, rectangular bathroom had a jacuzzi tub which was a space robber that sacrificed areas for actual bathroom necessities such as storage and counter space. A full remodel was totally warranted! As a designer, I knew that the floor plan would remain the same for the most part because the plumbing is already there and there are a few electric sockets to move around as well. The shower is small, and kept in place. It will be retiled (with a built-in niche to hold shampoo and soap bottles) with a new door and new shower fixtures. The whole bathroom will be torn out to the studs, and replaced with new cabinets and finishes. I went to a kitchen designer with my ideas to make a conceptual layout and elevations so that I would get measurements of what I wanted as an end product. I had all the materials ordered and ready to go. I now needed someone to implement the job. I get several bids on the project and we settled on Jeff Veglia. He provided us with a competitive price and was very helpful during his first onsite consultation. We found him to be down to earth, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and receptive to our ideas and needs, so we felt very comfortable choosing him to do the work. From deconstruction to finish, the whole project ran smoothly and on time. The price he quoted us was the price he performed the work for. We are very pleased with the quality of the work. His crew and sub-contractors were friendly, courteous, professional, and very respectful of us and our home; especially during these trying times with Covid issues. All the rough work and finishes were completed with the utmost professionalism, talent and an eye for detail. We felt comfortable in our home with his entire crew. We thoroughly recommend Jeff Veglia and his crew for any project you can dream up! They more than made every effort to have our project turn out as we specified. Jeff was available for every one of our calls and questions. We enjoyed the remodeling experience with this company and we are totally pleased with the results and cost. "I was overwhelmed trying to decide on all new furniture, rugs, drapes and paint colors for 3 rooms, so hired Tess to help. She is great, absolutely worth every penny! By having me complete her initial intake forms she was able to come to our first meeting fully prepared with suggestions, so we could quickly narrow down to 2 or 3 options for each item for me to go check out and shop for. Once I had my samples and selections she came back to approve and finalize fabrics and paints. If you're going to spend a lot of money overhauling your design, you want to make sure it's going to all work so it is a very good investment to hire Tess! Can't recommend her highly enough."

"When we started looking for a contractor on Angie's List, we were skeptical that we could find someone who could do three things: being within our budget, easy to communicate with and making sure that the final product was of high quality. We had a big project (renovating two bathrooms, renovating a kitchen, taking down a wall, removing wood paneling from multiple rooms, remodeling our basement, including removing asbestos tile from the whole basement, whole house interior painting, remodeling the laundry room, installing new light fixtures everywhere, etc) and Sanfer ended up being the perfect contractor for us. He was so easy to get in touch with and he did a great job keeping us updated on the project as it was coming along (we weren't living there at the time). While the project ended up going over the original budget we set, we also added multiple projects along the way that Sanfer was able to accomplish. The other thing we truly appreciated is that Sanfer has a true eye for quality and was able to ensure everything was exactly to our standards -- the tiling, the painting, even the installation of our new doorknobs. He even brought certain things up to us to help make the home more secure and prevent future damage (putting up stronger supports under our deck, fixing the flashing around the chimney) that he didn't need to do. When a few things needed to be fixed after the renovations were complete, he wasted no time in sending someone out to do the repair. Sanfer was so nice, honest, and enjoyable to work with, things we were not expecting to find in our general contractor but which made the whole renovation experience that much more positive. We would absolutely recommend him and his crew to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy contractor who will do a high-quality job for a fairly reasonable price."
