"I love my beautiful new roof. Beantown was amazing. Price was reasonable, arrived exactly when they said they would. Old double roof was off and new roof on in 7 hours. The crew was great cleaned up everything. I highly recommend Beantown."

Deck Upgrade in Halifax, MA. Old deck boards were removed and new AZEK decking in Island Oak with Premier White railings were installed.

Final photo. We stripped the existing roof and removed the heat wire. We inspected the roof deck for rotted wood and replaced. Next we installed Owens Corning Roofing System including Trudefinition Duration Shingles in Onyx Black. Heat wire was reinstalled.
Stripped existing siding and replaced any rotted wood. Installed Henry Blueskin water barrier underlayment. Next we installed James Hardie fiber cement smooth plank siding in Monterey Taupe. New homeowner painted PVC rake boards and fascia were also installed along with new gutters in Eggshell.

"I had a leak that can be seen from a ceiling. Called several roofing companies and got no reply back. Used home advisor and have Andrea called me and scheduled the visit promptly for Freddy to come and check the leak. Freddy was very professional, identified the leak that was due to improper seal of one of the skylights and fixed it right away. He also checked my other skylights and some had the same problem which he fixed. Freddy checked my roof for issues and provided tips for maintenance so it can last long. Definitely will recommend Global Home Improvement, Inc as a honest and very professional company !"

"This is a great company!  From the first meeting with Dana Sr. through to the completion of the project, everyone from Carefree was professional, efficient, friendly, and thorough.  I have a very long ranch style home that we anticipated would take a few days to re-roof. Asphalt shingles blister when air gets trapped between building materials, either within the layers of the shingle itself or in adhesives on the undersides of the shingles. As the roof heats up in direct sunlight, the trapped gas expands and creates a bubble in the roof. Eventually, the bubble can pop, leaving an exposed area of decking and underlayment.

Roll roofs don’t last as long as traditional roofs, like those made of asphalt shingles. A roll roof typically lasts between five and 15 years, whereas a shingled roof will last between 20 and 50  years. Modified bitumen roofs are similar in look to rolled roofing but have a 12 to 15 year warranty.

The most important thing to remember when laying shingles is to work from the bottom of the slope to the top. This leaves you with a top overlap that directs runoff from one row to the next until it reaches the eave for disposal. You should also make sure you follow the manufacturer's instructions and the local building code for nailing patterns and frequency so all of your hard work stays put through varying weather conditions.

You shouldn’t put a new roof underlayment over an old one for a few reasons. Old felt must be removed in order to assess the condition of your roof decking, such as rotting wood or other structural issues. Also, if your roofer doesn't install a fresh layer of felt as is required by shingle manufacturers, your warranty may be voided. Finally, old underlayment removal is often included in the cost of roof repair or replacement, so there's no real benefit to leaving it on before installing a new layer.

You may become so frustrated with the look of moss on your roof that you contemplate whether to clean or replace your roof. Fortunately, you don’t have to go as far as replacing it. After cleaning the moss, you can use a chemical solution to keep it away. For further protection, trim branches that overhang the roof, as fallen seed pods and leaves on the roof allow moisture to collect, encouraging moss growth. Consider adding zinc-coated flashing to the roof, too. As rain washes across the zinc, it leaves zinc particles behind that inhibit moss growth.
