"Remarkably well! After my initial phone conversation we set an appt. for the next day. Neil, a pest control expert arrived promptly. Listened to our concerns and proceeded to inspect every inch of the basement, including crawl space(!), each room on the 1st floor and the attic (a place that's difficult to maneuver). Checked perimeter for any points of entry. A lengthy, thorough inspection was completed to our satisfaction! Very impressed with Neil's attentiveness, professionalism and honesty. Highly recommend Cape Cod Pest Pros. Will definitely call on them with any future problems."

"We had a major mice infestation in our Cape summer home which we discovered upon the return from our Florida residence. A view of the massive mouse droppings all over the house, including the basement, was overwhelming and rather terrifying. We found references for EcoGeek Pest Control and Mold Removal Company in the Home Advisor and Google reviews -- and that was an end to our worries! Not only did Mike Travers put us at ease by thoroughly explaining to us the remedy process and the expected results, but he and his team fully achieved those results by working on our problem tirelessly, methodically, comprehensively and highly professionally. Mike has the keys to our house and his quarterly maintenance services ensure the safety and health of our Cape home, which is truly invaluable, especially when we are not there for months. Mike is an outstanding person who has helped us â as a true friend -- with some other, rather critical issues related to the unattended house. And he is a true master in his professional field!"

"We also used Sanborn Outdoor services for any control. James sprayed the exterior of our home and we havenâ t seen any ants since! We live in a very wooded area with water around us so mosquito control is difficult but the company has been able to keep the mosquitoes to a minimum and we are grateful."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Both insects can damage wood, but there are key differences between termites and carpenter ants that tell them apart. Carpenter ants tunnel through moist wood, leaving behind smooth tunnels and sawdust-like piles, as they don't eat the wood but rather carve it for nesting. In contrast, termites actually consume wood, creating irregular galleries filled with mud and dirt, and leaving behind mud tubes as their signature. In terms of appearance, carpenter ants have segmented bodies with heart-shaped heads and larger front wings, while termites have more oval bodies with straight antennae and equal-sized wings.

To help protect local ecosystems, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service urges citizens to educate themselves on how to identify and kill spotted lanternflies, including adults, immatures, and their eggs. It’s also crucial to check vehicles and belongings for the insects before traveling to avoid spreading them to new areas. Lastly, become familiar with your state’s reporting tools, take pictures if possible, and include the location where the picture was taken.

Some species of bees (not to mention hornets) are aggressive and dangerous to have in your walls. If they swarm in anger or defense, they could badly hurt people in your home. Other species of bees are largely harmless and many people live in close proximity to them.

Either way, bees making hives in your walls usually causes damage. It can contribute to moisture problems, and attract other pests. Those problems get even worse if honeycombs build up. So we strongly suggest you find a way to keep bees from taking up permanent residence.

Spiders are most active during the warm spring and summer months. During this time, most spiders emerge from their hiding places to lay eggs and hunt for food. However, each species of spider is different and some are more active than others. Stay vigilant for signs of spiders in your home once the weather begins to warm.

While there are many types of wood-eating pests, the most common one in the United States is termites. They are found in every state and are typically worse in warm and humid climates. They cause billions of dollars in damage every year, which is why it’s vital that homeowners address infestations as soon as possible.
