"The project went very well considering the scope. Selecting the granite slab was enjoyable. Sal addressed a drywall issue when removing one of the bathroom counter tops.
Dos: Get an upfront estimate of all work before committing. This includes extra granite, backsplash, etc.
I recommend having a plumber unhook all plumbing and a carpenter repair and level the cabinets prior to installation.
The better the preparation, the better the job.

"Honestly, it was less than optimal and I genuinely felt a little ripped off from working with them.
Celso came out and gave an estimate on 3 separate jobs
1)Painting the ceiling of the kitchen in my unit - 250$
2) Painting a hallway in the building - 500$
3) Paining the foyer and fixing the damaged drywall in the lobby - $600
He quoted them as such because 1 days for 1 for person was about 250$ and the lobby was to take 2 days plus the replacement of the drywall. Admittedly it took me about 2 months to get the association to agree to due to the foyer but when I did and scheduled the job with Celso, he told me it couldn't have been to replace the drywall but that it would still take 2 days to fix the ceiling with plaster and paint.
His man arrived and told me he'd take care of everything and when on setting up and prepping to paint. I left for work and 1 hour later, I got a call that he locked himself out. Luckily another owner in the building was able to let him in. At 3pm that day I got a call that the job was finished, if I could come make the payment. Needless to say I was very surprised that the job took less than 6 hours (including the time he was locked out of the building). Unfortunately, Arthur was on vacation (seems to be the business arm of the company). When Celso arrived to pick up the money, I expressed my displeasure with it taking only 1 day and yet him still charging me 600$, saying that obviously the 600$ originally quoted was to include the drywall repair. He conceded it took shorter than he thought but not that it would include drywall and he said it would only be 550. If this had been my personal place, I would probably have fought more but it is a headache enough running the condo association and didn't want to have to fight over this so I paid him.
They seem to have great reviews here so maybe it was just a 1-off situation where there was miscommunication (since Celso's English is a challenge) but I felt that he should have been like - well it only took 1 day - and 1 day of work is usually 250 or something along those lines + paint = 300-350.....
It just wasn't good value.
As for the paint job, the worker did a decent job but there were many areas where he didn't take care to make sure things were smooth. He also painted a door frame and closed the door, so that it was stuck basically when I got home. If the price issue hadn't occurred,  I would MAYBE consider using them again.

Drywall questions, answered by experts

If your home was built before the 1940s and was not remodeled in the past 50 or so years, you probably have plaster walls. Aside from assuming, there are some practical ways to tell if you have plaster walls, including the following: If you knock on the wall and it feels solid, not hollow, if you can’t insert a thumbtack easily, if there are cracks that look like spiderwebs, or if your home has curved, arched, or swirled walls, doorways, or window openings.

If you have an unfinished basement or attic, you could examine the backs of any finished walls to check, too.

On average, drywall installation costs around $2,000, with a typical range of $400 to $6,000, including materials and labor. The final price depends on several factors. The most significant is the size of the area, as many contractors charge per square foot. Other cost factors include the complexity of the job (e.g., cutting around multiple windows and doors, corners, or curved walls), accessibility, location, the thickness of the drywall, the height of the room, and the desired level of finish. The level of finish can range from simply hanging the drywall to taping and mudding the seams and painting the walls.

The average cost to apply a skip-trowel drywall texture to walls is $1.25 to $2.00 per square foot. Ceilings cost slightly more because of the increased difficulty of working overhead. Additional cost factors include any drywall repairs and removal of existing textures or wallpaper.

Whether a drywall anchor can be reused depends on its material, type, and the method of removal. Plastic anchors, including expansion and self-drilling types, are generally designed for single use as they tend to break or deform upon removal. Metal anchors, such as toggle bolts, are more durable and may be reusable if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle piece can fall into the wall cavity when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged during removal, for instance by having its head cut off, it cannot be reused regardless of the material.

Whether you need drywall anchors depends on your specific project, particularly where you are hanging an item. Drywall anchors are not necessary if you can drive a screw directly into a wooden stud behind the wall, as the stud provides sufficient support. However, since studs are not present everywhere in a wall, you will need to use drywall anchors if you are hanging an object in a location without a stud. For very lightweight items, picture hanging strips can also be a suitable alternative.
