"Rarely (if ever) do I write reviews but we were so blown away by John from Lancaster Home Remodeling that I felt compelled to do so. We hired an architect for a major redesign of our home (addition, removal of walls, ceilings raised etc). We met with several contractors and liked John immediately. He was very thorough walking through the house and reviewing the architects design. He asked very detailed questions and it was clear when comparing John to the other contractors he was incredibly detailed oriented and we were unlikely to come across many surprises. After we hired John he was in regular communication regarding the start date and project timeline. He started right when he said he would and we were immediately impressed with work. John does not just pass off work to sub contractors. He was on site every day working, keeping everything on schedule and communicating with us about the status of our project. John caught things that the architect and engineers missed. There were several unexpected roadblocks and John handled each one of them calmly and confidently. You could tell this man has seen everything and knew how to solve anything our old house threw his way. John's craftmanship, work ethic and quality speak for themselves. Above all though, John is a good person, honest and friendly. I can recommend him with the utmost confidence."

"The work took much longer than expected (4 months) and we ran right down to the max on what our home owner's insurance would allow for us to be put up in a hotel. D & R worked to fit us in around a lot of other jobs and this made it difficult to get much done quickly or more than 1-day per week of work in. One subcontractor was unprofessional and refused to do work he had agreed to causing us a 3-week delay. D & R was open with communication of setbacks or concerns, which we appreciated, and eventually replaced the subcontractor. Overall I am happy with the work. Some small details might be improved in the finish work. For example, there are some small lumps in some drywall patches that the painters might have finished better and one section of ceiling paint that did not match the rest of the ceiling. The flooring was replaced on the entire second floor (apx. 800 sq feet) and they did a great job with this especially considering they had all the furniture to contend with while they did the work. They provide a guarantee for a year for their work. The owner is responsive to contacts and pleasant. I would hire them again."

"Firstly I choose Jeff because of his outstanding reviews and very reasonable quote. I was not disappointed. Jeff and his team did an excellent job on a challenging bathroom addition. It basically consisted of transforming a storage space under the roof with inadequate head hight into a full bathroom. Jeff worked closely with me on the design giving good practical suggestions and was extremely professional in the construction. This included getting a structural engineer to verify roof loads after installing a huge skylight that provided necessary head height. He also had the great idea to change the design to include a bath in a very tight space after work had begun. Jeff was outstanding in his communication and flexibility to change the project design once under construction. Everyone on his team was excellent ranging from carpenters, plumbing, electrical, painting etc.. and Jeff was great at coordinating them all. I would definitely hire him again and highly recommend him!"

I initially hired Tess to help me redesign only one room, my dining room, since I had never worked with a designer before and wasn’t sure what to expect. Once we nailed down my style, Tess put together an absolutely gorgeous design, helping me choose furniture that was expressed who I am in a way I didn’t know furniture could. After my dining room, I hired Tess to redesign three additional rooms. The process for the additional rooms went very smoothly because Tess really understood what I was looking for and was able to present me with ideas I loved immediately. Tess genuinely listens to what you want and need, she’s there to support you throughout the whole process, and she’s just really fun to work with. "When we started looking for a contractor on Angie's List, we were skeptical that we could find someone who could do three things: being within our budget, easy to communicate with and making sure that the final product was of high quality. We had a big project (renovating two bathrooms, renovating a kitchen, taking down a wall, removing wood paneling from multiple rooms, remodeling our basement, including removing asbestos tile from the whole basement, whole house interior painting, remodeling the laundry room, installing new light fixtures everywhere, etc) and Sanfer ended up being the perfect contractor for us. He was so easy to get in touch with and he did a great job keeping us updated on the project as it was coming along (we weren't living there at the time). While the project ended up going over the original budget we set, we also added multiple projects along the way that Sanfer was able to accomplish. The other thing we truly appreciated is that Sanfer has a true eye for quality and was able to ensure everything was exactly to our standards -- the tiling, the painting, even the installation of our new doorknobs. He even brought certain things up to us to help make the home more secure and prevent future damage (putting up stronger supports under our deck, fixing the flashing around the chimney) that he didn't need to do. When a few things needed to be fixed after the renovations were complete, he wasted no time in sending someone out to do the repair. Sanfer was so nice, honest, and enjoyable to work with, things we were not expecting to find in our general contractor but which made the whole renovation experience that much more positive. We would absolutely recommend him and his crew to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy contractor who will do a high-quality job for a fairly reasonable price."

"DiOrio Builders & Designers has been excellent to work with on several projects around our 1890s colonial home in Boston. Over the last few years, they have painted the interior of our house, installed hardwood flooring, rebuilt our front porch, installed French drains in the back, reinforced and repointed our granite foundation, rebuilt our kitchen floor and tiled it, and installed numerous lights and a range hood. The quality of work is top-notch and they were great to work with. Pricing was fair, communication was professional and timelines were met. I recommend them to all my friends."

The only thing that I was disappointed about was they each only did a room, and it seemed to me they couIld have done more painting that needed to be done, but took their time and only did one room. For that reason, I'm not sure I would hire them again using a daily deal price. Perhaps it would be better if the pricing were by the room.
