Birch Hill Critter Solutions, has been doing business since 2003. We specialize in removing unwanted critters from your property. We are licensed and insured in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. We look forward to working with you! ***We do not service for bees, insects and woodpeckers***

"I discovered a bat flying around in the attic on a Saturday afternoon. I reached out to Birch Hill and they responded immediately by text and email. As it wasn't an emergency, we scheduled a visit that Monday afternoon for Birch Hill to assess the situation. Birch Hill confirmed the bats and determined that they were probably getting in via a gap in the top of the roof. Birch Hill returned the next day and installed a Roof Guard product along the roof line to prevent access to the attic. They also installed a bat extraction tube for the bats to find their way out. They also recommended chimney caps on the top of our fireplace to prevent potential wildlife access. Additionally, they sealed various holes at the base of the siding of the house. Two weeks later, Birch Hill returned, checked out the attic, and removed the bat extraction tube on the roof, and put the finishing touches on sealing up the exit hole. SUCCESS. These guys are Pros and a pleasure to work with. "

Animal Control of New England specializes in safe humane, wildlife removal, exclusions and repairs. We are a locally owned and operated company. We offer pest proofing, chimney caps, perimeter shields, vent guards, attic clean outs and re-insulate. Fully Licensed & Insured. 24 hr. Emergency service. Call for inspections and estimates.

"It is never fun to have wildlife invading one's home. In my case, it was flying squirrels who had made a small opening and found a way into my attic. I called Paul Hewes, and he answered my call right away. He was at my house within 90 minutes, and professionally assessed the situation. He described my options and helped me choose. He installed traps right away, and came back to my house three times to collect and remove the trapped animals. In total he removed over 18 flying squirrels! He was knowledgeable and careful. He inspected my entire house for other potential entry spots, and took some proactive action. He was great to work with. I hope not to have to call him again, but if I have a problem like this again, he's at the top of my list. When you divide his price by the number of animals removed, it's a good deal for me, bad deal for them."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Rats are the most active at night, from late evening through the early morning. These nocturnal creatures forage for food and explore their surroundings in the dark, when it's quieter and there's less human activity. You're less likely to see them during daylight hours, as they usually stay hidden in walls, attics, or other secluded areas. Spotting signs like droppings or gnaw marks is often the first indication of their presence, rather than seeing the rodents themselves.

The difference between fruit flies and gnats is the foods they eat. Fruit flies eat overripe fruit and high-fructose organic substances. Fungus gnats live in the soil and feed on houseplants. Both are quite small, but if you can discern their appearance, you'll also notice that fruit flies are a lighter tan color, while fungus gnats are a darker gray or black.

There aren’t legal toxicants for baiting possums, and it isn’t appropriate to use rodenticides designed to get rid of mice and rats. Misusing these toxicants can lead to fines or other penalties and harm other wildlife or pets in the neighborhood. Instead, stick with assisted live trapping or other humane methods to keep possums from setting up a home in your yard.

Attempting to kill a black widow spider can pose a significant health risk. When these arachnids feel threatened, they are more likely to attack, increasing your chances of getting bit. It's better to trap the spider and release it from a location far away from your residence.

You should hire a wasp or hornet removal professional to get rid of an active or dormant hornet nest. Due to the feisty and dangerous nature of these pests, it’s best to hire a professional who has the proper skills, tools, and experience to remove a nest safely. Do not attempt to remove an active hornet nest on your own.
