"He was professional, courteous, prompt, reliable and thorough. He proved very knowledgeable and competent about his business. He provided a free estimate and thorough guided inspection of the interior and exterior of my residence pointing out observable issues, making recommendations and laying out a plan for remediation. Upon acceptance of his offer he returned for a 2-hour service call to treat areas around the foundation, sill and basement. I found his costs to be reasonable and would highly recommend him to anyone seeking termite and pest services."

"The service turned out so-so. It was okay. I just had some issues and they would not come out, but they did the job and the problem went away. So, I guess overall, I am fine. They did not charge me more than the $150 Big Deal. I actually saw some bees a few weeks later. I asked them to come back, but they told me because I had spray myself, they told me that they could not guarantee anything. So, I was a little taken back with that. The problem went away so it became a loop point, but I was not happy knowing that because I had taken action myself and they could not guarantee the work that they had done. It does kind of disappoint. The problem went away so it is fine, but I am not sure if I would use them again. I am not sure if I would have them recommended. I think they could have told me upfront that they would not guarantee their work if I had done any spraying. There was no issue after the fact, but I did not appreciate it. I wish they had been more transparent upfront."

"The owner Rob LaPierre called me and said he could come between 1-2pm the same day (Thrs. 8/4). The others (who are still calling) couldn't come same day. When you have a dead animal in your yard, live in a partially wooded area with other wild animals, and it's 95 degrees out, you can't wait. Rob arrived just as promised, was courteous, professional and friendly. Well worth the $125 for the service. He does pest control also; bugs, rodents and bats. I will absolutely use him again and recommend him highly."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

If the snakes in your yard are non-venomous species (like common Rat or Garter snakes), why not consider the live-and-let-live approach? Some benefits of not getting rid of snakes include:

  • They’re great at controlling disease-spreading rodent populations, including rats, mice, voles, and moles.

  • Some non-venomous species (like the common kingsnake) eat venomous species like rattlesnakes and copperheads.

  • Species like the garter snake keep down populations of garden pests like slugs and grasshoppers.

Yes, humans carry fleas. Although fleas are primarily associated with dogs and cats, they are attracted to the warmth and carbon dioxide of mammals, including humans. The difference is that most fleas will only choose animals as their hosts. They may bite humans, but they don’t tend to stick around on humans for long. The one exception is the Pulex irritans, also called the human flea, which prefers human blood.

While water bugs are considered generally harmless to humans, they can bite humans if threatened. Cockroaches are often incorrectly mistaken for water bugs. In this case, cockroaches can bite but are unlikely to bite humans.

Water bug bites can be very painful and cause symptoms such as redness, swelling, and allergic reaction. Bites will usually heal on their own. However, if you experience severe symptoms or an allergic reaction, seek medical help immediately.

Scented mouse deterrents, like peppermint oil, can be effective in the short term. The pungent smells may temporarily repel mice, but they lose effectiveness as the scent fades or mice get used to it. The main drawbacks are frequent reapplication and the fact that these deterrents don't address the root cause of the infestation, such as entry points or food sources. While they can be part of a broader strategy, scented deterrents alone are rarely enough to eliminate a mouse problem.

Due to the high temperatures used during heat treatments, many things must be removed from the area. The most vital things to ensure you remove are living things like pets and plants. To prevent damage to your belongings, you should also remove items such as electronics, flammable products, food, and anything else that the heat may damage.
