Great! Dwain was very knowledgeable. The price was reasonable. The work went very fast. It was finished a few days ago and it looks amazing! I would definitely recommend the Decksperts!

It went great. A year later and I'm just as thrilled with the deck as if it was built yesterday. These guys worked three to four days straight in building a deck we wanted. We were adding a door to the back of our garage that would open out to the deck and they took the time to measure and getting the height right so that you could step right out on the deck. I wish we did this sooner. We had other quotes and they came in the lowest. Their work is of superior quality. This deck is here to stay.

We had the Decksperts remove and rebuild a wrap-around deck and a wrap-around front porch. The materials selected, along with fine craftsmanship and attention to detail, have resulted in a porch and deck we are proud to have on our home. Without hesitation or reservation, we would recommend the Decksperts to anyone interested in new or replacement decks and porches.

The Decksperts took on the complicated project of building a deck on top of our porch over-looking the water on Hamilton Reservoir. This project was complicated because they had to partner with our roofer to remove the existing roof on the porch and then sister the ceiling joists to add strength. After the joists were sistered the roofer would then close the roof, add ¾ inch plywood and a rubber roof. They are sistering the joists so they can handle a heavy load with the added deck materials and a crowd of fun loving guests . All this had to take place during a multiple day period of dry weather, something very hard to come by lately. Unfortunately, the existing joists were not to code. They were only 2x6s and there were electrical and cable wires that had been slotted in multiple locations across the joists, weakening them. So, we had to work with the Building Inspector to identify an alternate plan. The end result was that we had to find an electrician on an emergency basis to come out to do some rewiring. This involved punching through walls and redirecting wires. We also had to "raise the roof" a couple of inches with the added joists to add additional strength to the structure. Decksperts rolled with the punches; they were excellent partners and active problem solvers. And, we found an electrician to come out on a same-day basis, fortunately, and Decksperts partnered with him to resolve the electrical issues. After the new roof was in place, Decksperts installed a sheet drain on the roof and then the Azek pavers, directly on the rubber roof. Decksperts also added railings around the new deck and a set of stairs down to the patio. We originally planned to have stairs down to the driveway, but we had to go to Plan B when they discovered the stairs would be right on top of part of our septic system. Again, Decksperts worked with our Building Inspector to get approval, on short notice, for the change in plan. I was extremely impressed with the quality of their workmanship. The team was very responsive and they were very flexible in overcoming the challenges that they faced. The team has a great attitude on the job, superior technical knowledge and exceptional problem solving skills. They were an excellent partner with my roofer and the electrician and they worked well with the local building inspector. The deck is beautiful!

Decksperts showed up a week earlier than promised and removed existing deck in short order.

They then began pouring new footings and construction of the new composite deck.

The color of the deck and trim match well with existing siding.

They also acted as a general contractor and helped us work with Set in Concrete [a concrete contractor in East Longmeadow] who laid out a beautiful concrete patio which joins up with the deck.

All in all Duane from Decksperts made this an easy experience, we got what he promised us and we'll enjoy our deck for years to come.

This was the best experience that we have ever had with contractors. They were extremely honest, professional and courteous at all times and the quality of their work is outstanding. We highly recommend the Decksperts.

Removed existing 25 yr. old deck with extra care given the fact that a mud room" was built on top of a portion of the deck.

• Replaced the deck with material that require little maintenance
• were always on time and worked non-stop throughout each day of the project

These guys are great.  The gave us lots of options for colors for decking, rails and lattice.  With their help we were able to pick deck colors that complement the house color as well as match our trim color to the rails and lattice.  They were on site for about  days and when they were done they cleaned up better than most contractors we have used in the past.
As we examined the deck stairs, Dwain, one of the owners was not real pleased as to how it came our even though it looked fine to us.  As such he returned a couple of weeks later and redid the decking for the stairs.  Most contractors we have used in the past who needed to return for something, once given the money, never returned but Dwain did.  Hats off to their wanting to make sure the customer is fully satisfied.
We have had many complements about the entry porch and really dressed up the house from the old pressure treated deck we had there before.

The experience went well.  They stayed in contact with us every step of the way and constantly over-delivered.  They made style recommendations that were well received.

These guys are AMAZING.  I cannot state strongly enough how pleased we are.  Met Dwayne at a home show, and 2 days later he called to schedule an appointment.  The day of the appointment, he called to see if being a bit early would be a problem!  Great start.  The design insight they gave was great, and we quickly had materials, size, and colors chosen.  They were able to schedule the job in between a couple of larger jobs, and they project was started off as we wanted.  I took vacation days for the project to keep an eye on things. (largely because of some past experiences with sketchy contractors).  Boy, was I glad I did!
I am a process engineer, but not a builder by any means.  But in watching their processes and methods, I was blown away.  Their level of detail, process planning, and complete focus on perfection was astounding.  Nothing escaped their watchful eyes. Any little variance from perfect was noted and corrected (not noticed by me at all - they self-inspected each step along the way).  The joists (10 x 2's) were first all hand ripped to exactly 9" to eliminate the variance in the PT lumber.  The joist hangers were 100% lag bolted (not nailed as is normal practice).  When the joists were all hung and the box was complete, they took a 20' straight edge across them to identify any high spots.  A hand planer was used to get the box completely planar.  Amazing.
The day they laid the Azek was hot and sunny (south side of the house), so Patrick whipped up a temporary canopy with lumber and a tarp so that the boards were not overly expanded (from thermal expansion).  The shaded boards were then fastened with stainless steel hidden fasteners.  The Azek plugs used to fill the few areas that needed screws were all laid out so they could find the proper grain for each specific hole to fill....and then they aligned each one so the grains were in line, and the plugs became invisible.
Every visible end-cut edge of Azek was routered with a 1/8" quarter-round.  Every fastener on the lower lattice was plugged. You cannot see a single fastener on this deck.  The stair treads are each pictured-framed in a two-tone design (not just straight across).  All of the mitered corners were pocket screwed (Kreg jig screw system) and glued. Unheard of. Their railing system is crazy strong - 4 lag bolts through the steel bases of the posts go into the 4x6 PT blocking designed into the box.  Again, no fasteners are visible, and the railings are rock solid.
They were on time every day, and every day they cleaned up every tiny bit of the work area.  We had a few opportunities to make small changes, which were suggested by them, and at no added cost.  Dwayne also "gave" us about 18" wider a deck because the Azek lengths would have needed to be cut anyway...so we only paid a bit more for the extra PT lumber needed for the larger frame.  The lattice work around the skirt needed a revision due to my error with proper grading- and they needed to do some rework.  There was no upcharge.
And now, a few months after the job was done, Dwayne has sent me an email asking how things are, and if we needed anything corrected.  Just crazy-good customer service.
We cannot give any higher a grade than A+++, 11 out of 10, or 110% satisfied.  These guys are truly "Decksperts", know their trade (they were finish carpenters at one time), pay more attention to detail than anybody I have ever hired, and really do everything right.  It's too bad more contractors weren't like Dwayne and Patrick.  These guys give contractors a fantastic name.
If you want a deck built, and choose anybody other than The Decksperts, you are making a mistake.  And don't be scared of their prices- and be sure to compare apples-to apples when evaluating the bids.  These guys build quality decks at a fair price.

The quick summary:  if you want a deck built and don't give The Decksperts serious consideration, you are making a mistake!

The Decksperts got back to our initial inquiry promptly, came out and gave a very professional presentation of what they could do for us, discussing size, colors, materials, and providing samples of materials and pictures of their previous work.  Half the decking contractors we contacted couldn't even be bothered to follow through with estimates after meeting with us.  Dwain and Patrick's approach was as refreshing as it was professional. 

While their prices might seem above average at first glance, the quality of materials and workmanship they provide are far above the norm.  You can be assured that you will get your money's worth -- or more.

Their suggestions regarding materials and layout were very helpful - we benefitted from their experience, because they brought up ideas that we would not have thought of, which improved the finished product. 

We are very particular and detail-oriented, and The Decksperts were a perfect match for us in that respect.  As many other reviewers have noted, they are absolutely meticulous in their work and don't move on until everything is just right.  This approach pays off in the end, as we couldn't be happier with the deck they built for us.  It can be very disappointing to spend significant money on a large project and have regrets about the finished product.  That is not the case with The Decksperts - we're satisfied with every detail.

Our experience with The Decksperts was probably the most satisfying contractor experience we've had in our years of home ownership.  We have a deck that meets and exceeds our expectations, and a deck that we will enjoy for years to come. 

It went great! They came at the appointed time and stayed until all was done every single day. Worked more than eight hour days quite a bit. We have a back yard on a hill with a newly installed above ground swimming pool. They are perfectionists with their work and keep at it until it is done right. We had an issue with getting into the pool. Dwain worked with the town hall getting permits and made sure everything was up to code. They had to install a gate at the entrance to the pool. The laws now require a 48" gate installed at that point of entry. This thew off the handles on each side of the stairs that go into the pool. They had to custom make the handles to work properly. They did a beautiful with everything. The railings were also custom made. It took a lot of their time but they made it work. It was a pleasure to work to work with them. They also removed a window in the kitchen to make way for a door to connect to the deck. They went  & picked up our kitchen door and installed it. One step was required to enter the deck they took care of that for us. All high quality work. I would highly recommend them for any work that is needed.

Dwain, Patrick, and the guys worked diligently and tirelessly to complete this major project. Every part of the deck was custom, so they did a lot of prep work to locate materials, etc. before building. Throughout the project, Dwain was in constant communication--they wanted to be sure that we were happy on a daily basis. Any problems they encountered, they troubleshot with ease. The deck was completed totally within estimate and three weeks earlier than the target date. I cannot say enough good things about the Decksperts--my husband and I felt from the moment they pulled up to our house that they were the right people to do our project, and we were never disappointed. We have and will continue to recommend them to anyone who needs a deck built. Their work is solid, beautiful, and high quality.

The Decksperts are, in fact, experts. From the beginning estimates to the completed project they were professional and attentive to our wishes. Their craftsmanship is outstanding. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with the finished product. Some may think they might be a bit expensive and I am sure that you can find a company that will have a lower price but I doubt you'll find someone who's attention to detail and quality of work are on par with these guys. The old adage " you get what you pay for" is true with The Decksperts. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

The entire experience was great, they came over a few times to look at our existing deck/space and discuss ideas. They listened to us but also offered their thoughts & suggestions. They showed up on time everyday, even worked in the pouring rain. The deck is stunning, we are beyond happy, we would definitely use Decksperts again!

for the most part the renovation went fine-only problems were out of their control in delays of materials and incorrect parts received both caused by the company ordered from--the deck is the best one I have ever seen and would support anything.very pleased and would not hesitate to hire again.

Very professional with meticulous craftsmanship.  Came up with an idea for re-designing the stairs that we love.

Hiring the Decksperts to build our deck, was the best decision we made.  We knew from our first meeting with them, that they would give us the deck we had always dreamed of.  They are very meticulous, responsive and professional.  Pat and Dwain are on site every day.  They encourage you to voice any concerns and ask questions, with a goal of providing you with exactly what you want.  They left the site spotless everyday and even vacuumed my grass a couple of times.
I had given them pictures of what I wanted, big columns below, a landing with 3 sided stairs at the bottom, etc. These were taped up on my back door as a reference.  Dwain searched far and wide for post covers that we requested.  They had distributors that ordered the wrong items, or had delays, and were able to rectify the orders and continue the job without delay.  Early in the project we made a change to the position of our stairs, which made them much more dramatic, but caused some issues later.   When it came time to order the railings, their distributor told them there wasn't any thing that would work for an angled step we had.  Pat was not deterred and was able to manufacture this section of railing himself.  The lower columns are beautiful and so substantial.  The added trim work to the facing of the deck giving it some contour and so much more interest.  
Are goal was to increase the size of our existing deck and create a space underneath to enjoy.  They suggested a second color of decking to add trim to the deck and stairs, which added so much interest.  The light caps on the deck and lights on the risers of the stairs are so beautiful at night.  The under deck dry ceiling system is so bright and beautiful letting us enjoy the outdoors even during the rain.  The staircase, which became such a focal point of the deck, is so beautiful, it is worthily of a brides grand entrance. The Decksperts created such beautiful areas, I don't think we will ever go inside.  
This was the best experience we have ever had working with a contractor.  It was very heartwarming to see such a respectful father/son working relationship.   It was a pleasure having them on site everyday.  They truly delivered a deck  far exceeding our expectations, that we will enjoy for years to come.

So the only problem that I have with these guys was that they weren't very professional with the quoting.  I initially got a quote from them that looked fantastic.  I informed the other providers who had given me quotes that I had found someone else to do the work for less expensive and agreed to sign a contract with the Decksperts.  Then, the Decksperts called and indicated that they made a horrible mistake in the pricing and re-quoted the job for about double.  They were very apologetic and I got the perception it really WAS a mistake and they weren't trying to screw me, so I went with them anyway, especially since it was getting late in the year and I wanted the work done in time for a party I was having (people were booking up quickly this year).
I am glad I ended up going with them.  They did a great job.  The steps look beautiful.  They showed up on the exact day they said they would when we had signed the contract a month earlier.  Overall, for the job itself I have zero complaints.  The only drawback was the miss on the quote, but I think it was an honest mistake and they don't deserve to get dinged too much for it.
