"Bob inspected the window frames and provided a few solutions I hadn’t considered. Same for interior doors no longer hanging properly. Although I typically prefer paying by the job instead of by the hour, Bob was quite focused on his work and use of time. I will be asking him to return in the spring to complete a few additional repairs and install a storm door."

"Installed a three panel front window. Executed well and very professional staff arrived within timeframe. Pleased with the work done and the end product. Despite some small hiccups they were taken care of same day with no delay. Team was respectful and personable to work with."

"Rob Calnan and his team were really great!  After contacting a bunch of contractors that take part in the MassSave program, we decided to go with Calnan Energy Systems because he could do the job much faster and to a higher level of quality.
They took the time to explain the details of the project at every step of the way.  They have a bunch of ladders and the best equipment so that jobs can be done with maximum efficiency.  When a few open seams in our sheathing allowed cellulose to blow into the house accidentally, they didn't miss a step and cleaned up everything to a level even better than they found it.  These guys work hard all day long, from the moment they arrive to the time they finish cleaning up.
I can't speak to the direct impact on our utility bills since we moved in a short time ago and we have installed a new high-efficiency boiler just before the winter heating season began.  However, we do notice a *slight* reduction in street noise.  I have also taken some infrared pictures of the house (both inside & out) on a very cold night in January and it's clear that we're sealed up tight!  No missing cavities due to framing cross-members, etc.  They also blew insulation into a few porch overhang cavities as well.
Since the job ended I have called Rob with a few insulation questions and he's been super-helpful.
I would highly recommend Rob and his company!

Knee wall is prepped for new insulation to be installed
1st layer or 2 inch insulation board installed against the roofline after existing fiberglass is removed and knee wall vacuumed clean
After old insulation is removed, and the knee wall is air sealed, the new insulation is installed on the wall
4 inches of 2 inch insulation board installed and foamed, ready for final cap layer of 2 inch Thermax insulation board
Lastly, the Tyvek is installed over the new insulation

Small jobs welcome

"Tom and his crew fixed the beam, replaced the wood facing and caulked where needed. He cleaned up the area carefully and was always pleasant and professional. He clearly knows what he is doing. He was delayed getting to my home because an earlier job ran later than he anticipated, but that was OK. I know it is difficult to judge time on these jobs. Tom did a great job and the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend him."

"Existing stoop in front of house was in desperate need of replacement. Decided to replace existing structure with a portico. The work was completed quickly and the quality was outstanding. Price was good for what was built. Would definitely hire again and recommend to others."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

You can add glass to your existing kitchen cabinet doors with a few tools and some patience. We recommend following the DIY steps listed above, which include cutting a panel for the glass, cutting and adding the glass, and reattaching your cabinetry. If these steps seem too complicated or you’d rather have the peace of mind of a professional installation, hire a cabinet installation pro to handle this project for you.

You can clean the oven window the same way you clean the oven walls. Make a paste of baking soda and water and let it sit on the window overnight before wiping it off with a damp cloth. You might find it helpful to rub the baking soda paste in with an old toothbrush.

The easiest way for DIYers to smooth the edges of cut glass is to use sandpaper. Wearing protective gloves, gently sand the sharp edges smooth using low-grit sandpaper and working up to high-grit sandpaper. You can also use a multitool with a rotating sandpaper cylinder to make quicker work of the project.

The best (and safest) glass for glass walls is tempered and laminated glass. These types of glasses work well for walls because they are durable against impact and heat.

Costs depend on mirror size, mounting hardware, and additional features like lighting.
