Larger projects, like demolishing a multi-story building or clearing a site for new construction, can take several weeks. Factors such as site preparation, safety precautions, and debris removal can also impact the timeline.

If you’re removing a ceiling fan without visible screws, start by locating the fan canopy—a round cover placed above the fan blades and motor. There should be a thin ring that can be turned counterclockwise to remove the canopy and reveal the screws. After unscrewing the fan, you can disconnect the wires and remove the entire fan from the mounting hardware. For safety, make sure the fan switch is turned off before you remove the canopy. It may be easier to remove the fan blades first, too.

The cost to tear down a garage averages $2,000 to $10,000. You might consider this option if your existing garage is damaged beyond repair or if you have grand renovation ideas that are best suited to a fresh build. In some cases, tearing down and rebuilding a garage is more cost effective than adding an extension.
