"Gaby is excellent. He quoted my job accurately and honestly. He worked quickly and effectively- and was done in the time he had predicted. His work is stellar- we are so happy with our deck. He is also so kind and wonderful to have around. I highly recommend Gaby- I will use him again for all my carpentry needs. He is an excellent carpenter!!"
"Lucas & Tiago did an amazing job. They are skilled carpenters who were easy to communicate with and made intelligent suggestions for implementing our unique stairway handrail design. Their work was speedy, efficient, and of the highest quality. Also they meticulously cleaned up after they finished. We could not be happier."
"Jay and Mason are amazing! Fair pricing, on time, replaced screens and painted our front steps - Could not be happier! Quality work and we hired them to come back for another 2 small projects! We will be having them quote us again on a larger undertaking. If I could give them a 10 in the above ratings, I would certainly do so. A Gem of a company! So happy I found them! We will use Jay-Son over and over again."
"Ryan did an excellent job installing my wood floor.
He did a flawless job fingering in the new wood with the old wood.
Work hard continually throughout the day.
I appreciated getting the job completed in a few days
I would definitely hire Romas again"
"I had a great experience with Matt once we got started late because of the pandemic. I've lived in my first house for 18 years and have always wanted to put a deck in the front. The back door frame had rotted out so here was my excuse to do some fun stuff. I met two other builders. One was an old curmudgen and the other was a young kid that didn't seem to care about appearance. Then i met Matt. 34 yr. old and professional looking. I told him about the back door and said not a problem. Then I told him my ideas for the deck which turned into a beautiful screened in 8x10 porch. I had my ideas and told me what he had done in the past. The project was not "set in concrete" so to speak. We both had ideas and my vision came out through his work. It could not have come out any better. I would highly recommend Matt for any project you can think of. Once we got started it was done quickly. His work was simple yet elegant. Perfect job. Thanks Matt. '"
"Mr. Terry was awesome! This is my first review I am writing. I felt I needed to write something as his work was so outstanding. He repaired 16 windows and did it beautifully. Marvin's quoted over $40K!! He was able to do what was needed for much much less. He was honest, professional, meticulous, extremely knowledgeable and kind. Miles above the window brand quotes which are ridiculous. Would strongly recommend if you need any window repairs!!!"
"From the initial phone call, returned the same afternoon when I had initially left him a message, Bertie was amazingly honest, professional and understanding. Towards the end of the SAME day that I called him, he came by to look the job over and then called me with an estimate the next day! Bertie did not balk at the prospect of working on an old house and badly-damaged ceiling. In fact, even before getting the job, he explained things about the methods that had been used and what had happened over the years to create the conditions we had now. He was obviously incredibly knowledgeable, AND, not looking askance at the small but possibly frustrating job we needed. We liked Bertie and accepted his offer almost immediately after getting it. It seemed fair and he said he could do it within the time frame we needed. A grand piano needed to be moved out of the room and stored, and we had to do the things needed in the room in a certain very specific order. Today, the day of the work, Bertie arrived at 7:15 (he had said around 7:30) and very quietly and calmly covered all the surfaces, the entry way to the room, etc. He worked alone and I thought that was pretty impressive to be able to get those drywall boards in the right place and affixing them himself. It was obvious that he was an extremely skilled craftsman. I had to go out for a while and returned home in the late afternoon to the job completely done. The skimcoat looked AMAZING, smooth and flawless. No one could have known what was there before! My husband, who has done much of the work on our house and has difficulty letting someone else do the work, was super-impressed by how wonderful it looked and how easeful it all seemed! Also, the room and surrounding area was left completely clean and dustfree. Before Bertie left, he and my husband had a long talk about working on old houses and about all the obstacles you encounter. Bertie is passionate about what he does, very personable, but all business when he comes to doing the actual work. I ended up walking around my house looking at other areas that need Bertie's magic touch, because it will now be possible to get my husband to agree that he doesn't have to do all the work himself -- that there is someone who will come into our old house and do a great job!!
"Quick response to schedule appointment, promptly answers all questions, very respective, high quality of work. Already looking at him for several other jobs. Strongly recommend him. Was leary of home advisor before after many bad experiences. Glad I tried again and found Jones construction he will be on my short list of contactors in the future."
Framing with metal studs can be significantly faster than using wooden studs, provided you have some experience working with the material. While you can use virtually instant pneumatic nailers with wood, metal requires installing screws. However, because metal is lighter, straighter, usually comes cut-to-length, and doesn't require sorting for the best pieces, you can save significant time using metal instead of wood.
Costs depend on furniture type, size, complexity, and whether additional modifications are needed.
The average cost of DIY window framing is about $40 to $60 in materials. If you hire a window treatment professional, you’ll pay for materials plus labor costs—anywhere from $250 to $800 per window. The final cost is highly dependent on the window size, as larger windows are heavier and more difficult to install, as well as the type of window framing material.
Professionals charge between $60 and $95 per hour to install ornamental porch columns. The amount of time they need varies based on the condition of the porch, whether they need to remove old columns, and if there is any damage to your porch's structure. This cost can increase if more issues come up during the installation process.
Framing a basement takes three to five days, on average, when completed by a professional, though it may take longer for a larger space. Keep in mind this doesn’t include the time to complete the design, obtain permits, and install the drywall on the framing. On average, fully finishing a basement takes an average of 45 days.
