"I called to get a quote on basement mold remediation. They arrived the same day I called, and 2 workers showed up on time to do a walk thorough of my basement. They did not try to sell me on services I did not need and in fact, gave me tips on how I could do the mold remediation as a DIY project. They were professional and honest ... values you do not see in many contractors these days."

Derek explained everything very clearly, answered any questions I had and the system works great. Highly recommend Derek and the company in general."

"Kerry called me back very quickly but you did not have an option for pest control so I selected air quality control so that is how he called me. He tried to assist the best he could in what he does but I needed pest control. I would definitely hire him if I had an issue with what his company handles."

"They showed up on time. Two cleanly dressed men ready to help me with my problem. They found the simplest way to enhance my existing radon remediation system, that was installed by the previous owner. I think they are honest. I was not concerned with having them around my family. I hope their business continues to prosper."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Mold is very likely if you do not take action to fully dry your home within around 24 to 48 hours after water damage occurs. This can happen even faster in warm, dark locations with extensive water damage. In areas of the home that receive ample sunlight and only have slight moisture issues, it can take weeks for mold to appear.

Window sill mold can be harmful, but the severity depends on the type. Common household molds like Cladosporium or Aspergillus can trigger allergies, respiratory issues, or worsen asthma symptoms. However, black mold (Stachybotrys) can produce mycotoxins that can harm your health. Even less toxic molds should be addressed promptly to prevent health risks and property damage.

Water damage doesn’t always cause mold and wood rot, but it can. Both mold and wood rot require moisture in the wood to form, so water damage that continues to leave water or moisture behind can lead to both issues. Water damage and mold often go hand-in-hand, but you can prevent mold growth after water damage by addressing the source of moisture and drying out the area quickly. The same goes for wood rot. The longer you let water damage go, the higher the risk of mold and rot.

Damp plaster does dry out, although the drying time depends on several factors, including the type of plaster, the surrounding temperature, moisture content, and the extent of the dampness. Sometimes, it can take weeks or months for wall plaster to dry naturally.

Finding mold in an HVAC system is never fun, but the good news is you can clean it and send those spores packing. That being said, hiring a helping hand may be necessary to fully remove the mold and prevent regrowth. Professionals use specialized tools and cleaners, such as antimicrobial solutions and HEPA vacuums, to safely remove mold from ducts, coils, and other components. For small amounts of mold, homeowners can clean visible areas using a mix of water and detergent, but they must wear protective gear and avoid spreading spores.
