Customers say: True professional

"Review: Lou's work is impeccable. We are first time home buyers, and the floor refinishing was our first project. Lou was delightful and professional, and when we hit a snag with our closing date, he was very accommodating and worked with us to ensure that we could refinish the floors before our move. Our floors are amazing! We bought an older home, and the house was instantly rejuvenated with the refinished floors. Everyone who has seen the house immediately comments on how beautiful the refinished floors look. We really enjoyed working with Lou and would recommend his business to anyone looking for refinishing work. We hope all our future contractors will be as knowledgeable, pleasant, and meticulous as Lou."

Small jobs welcome

"When we first met to discuss my project, I was surprised how young Ariel was and questioned whether he was qualified to do the work which involved repairing an old shed, painting it and also staining the woodwork on my deck. We talked more and felt better when he talked about his dad being a big part of his business and the wealth of experience he has. We agreed on a fair price and took a chance despite getting many other calls from better "known" area contractors. We agreed to terms and scheduled when they'd arrive. As agreed, both father & son showed up on time and promptly began doing the job and worked continuously only stopping for lunch. The work was very well done and I was completely satisfied. So satisfied that I'm having them cost out a new stone wall and possibly levelling and paving the dirt under my rear deck. I would not hesitate to use them again nor should anyone else have any reservations doing so. Highly recommended! It also is an added bonus that they're both very nice people......................."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

No subflooring is perfectly level, but you should never ignore any noticeable floor sagging. Most contractors deem a floor that slopes by a 1/2 inch to 1 inch per 20 feet of floor acceptable. Further investigation is required when the slope or sag is more than one and a half inches.

Now that you know the true pleasure of a squeaky-clean floor, you’re probably wondering how to keep floors clean between mop days. Here are the best tips to keep your floor looking spotless:

  • Give floors a quick daily swipe with a microfiber mop.

  • Keep a spray bottle of your cleaning solution on hand to use as needed.

  • Sweep daily and vacuum once or twice a week.

  • Clean up spills and messes as soon as they happen.

  • Place a doormat at each entrance to your home to reduce mud tracking.

  • Consider enforcing a “no shoes inside” policy.

  • Wash your pet’s paws before letting them back inside.

The most affordable kitchen flooring option is sheet vinyl due to its low material and installation costs, followed by laminate flooring and vinyl planks. Be sure to get quotes from flooring companies in your area for exact estimates for your kitchen floor. If you let them know that you’re looking for kitchen floor ideas on a budget, they can suggest products and materials within your price range.

If you don’t want to use carpet as a covering for your stairs, you have several alternatives. A few popular choices include hardwood, laminate, and rubber flooring.

On average, installing carpet costs between $3 and $11 per square foot, depending on factors like the carpet material, style, and labor rates in your area. Sometimes, installers will include carpet removal in these costs, so if you don’t have any carpet to remove, you can save time and spend less money on labor.
