"The plumber arrived during the timeframe that he committed to and was very professional. He reconnected our gas stove and the price for the job was right within the estimated quote. I would recommend KMD to anyone on Cape Cod who is in need of a good, reliable plumber."

"I thought the price for a sump pump replacement was very expensive for what I had done (2 men, 2hrs). They quoted the estimate and charged me $1,500.00. Home Advisor had emailed/quoted me a fixed price of approx. 600.00. I had asked to schedule when they could do the job and said they could do it that day, THIS WAS NOT A RUSH/EMERGENCY, but I gave the go ahead because I just wanted this project done. There was no drilling involved (in the well and the wall to drain out). They replaced the sump pump and installed a new drain pipe in the well and attached it to the existing drain in my cellar wall. The plumbers were courteous and explained everything thouroughly so that weighed in on my overall star rating. Thanks."

"We had an excellent experience with Jacuzzi. They transformed our traditional bathroom into one that is now handicapped accessible, in just 2 days. John Cummings (sales) guided us through the process. The technicians were fantastic."

"After living in this house for 38 years ( original owner), I was surrounded with trees. All trees are gone and I'm now at the bottom of a hill the builder made for new houses. Have 2 sump pumps with never having water in a finished basement, now when it rains we get water. Call Ed, he came right out and we signed a contract with an open installation date. After last storm Ed put us on priority list, crew come in and jackhammer around the basement and installed a French drain and added a 3rd pump. Job was finished in 2 days, all trash and cleaning done. Wendel came by to check on the work, we are waiting for a couple of finishing items ( pump cover and outside drain pipe finish ). These 2 guys were amazing with the amount of cement that had to be taken out, the stone carried in 5 gallon buckets, the mixing of cement to repair the floor. We gave them lunch and whatever they needed for drinks. I see a few bad reviews on this company but I would say it's the customer looking for too much perfection. This company is great with their prices, warranty, and their very hard working employees, Ed always responded when calling with questions or concerns."

Plumbing FAQs, answered by experts

Thorough plumbing requires proper documentation and specific materials. Verify that local professionals secured and closed all necessary permits. In MA, correct installations feature corrosion-resistant materials designed to withstand salt air exposure. You will also see robust freeze protection, including insulated pipes in unheated spaces and proper drain-down valves for seasonal shutoffs. Finally, proper work includes components chosen to handle local hard water and iron content.

Helpful?

Address any leak, failing shutoff valve, or uninsulated pipe immediately before the first hard frost hits MA. You must also resolve slow drains or sewage odors right away, as these indicate failing septic systems that demand urgent plumbing repairs. Conversely, schedule cosmetic plumbing updates and minor fixture replacements during the winter off-season. Contractor availability improves during these months, making it the ideal time for non-urgent upgrades.

Helpful?

Homeowners make a major mistake by ignoring septic system limits when adding fixtures. Chatham properties rely on private septic systems rather than municipal sewers, meaning new bathrooms require strict capacity evaluations. Another error involves leaving pipes exposed to cold weather during fall renovations. Finally, attempting unpermitted plumbing leads to severe insurance complications and creates significant hurdles when you sell your property.

Helpful?

Improper winterization destroys plumbing rapidly. Failing to completely drain supply lines and toilets before leaving your Chatham home causes severe freeze damage. Setting winter thermostats below 55 degrees creates similar freezing hazards in exterior walls. Overloading your septic system with garbage disposal waste or excessive laundry also stresses your pipes. Finally, relying on harsh chemical drain cleaners accelerates corrosion in older cast iron or galvanized lines.

Helpful?

Combine plumbing with other upgrades to streamline your renovation. In Chatham, coastal corrosion damages pipes and surrounding structures simultaneously, making it smart to address both at once. Upgrading insulation alongside plumbing protects pipes from freezing temperatures. Additionally, scheduling this work during the off-season improves contractor availability. Always coordinate fixture additions with your septic system capacity to avoid reopening walls or duplicating your efforts.
