"I contacted Scott Harlow through Angi and I couldnâ t be more pleased with his work. Scott removed the old film on 15 of my sunroom windows and replaced it with new UV and heat retardant film. The windows look fantastic. Not only is Scottâ s work excellent, but he is also very pleasant, prompt and a true expert at his craft. I recommend him highly and without reservation."
"I would highly recommend this company! I have an older home and they repaired all of my original double hung windows. Each window had different issues I contacted them and they came and did an estimate for the work. They also explained exactly what work would be done. They were very thorough and transparent. They did the estimate in the fall and the work was scheduled in the spring. They came on the date that was scheduled, amazing! They were extremely reliable, and showed up for all work as scheduled. They did beautiful work. It is such a pleasure to be able to open all my windows!. The business is very well run, very professional. From the lovely woman in the office to the gentlemen that came to work at the house, they were all terrific. I can't say enough about this company and the quality of their work. I feel the pricing was fair for the job and workmanship."
"Unfortunately this company has deteriorated over the years. I am in a position to know as I have used their services for over twenty years- but never again! The workers and the owner were rude, , unwilling to do the job completely and overcharged me. They refused to dust clean the screens or the bottom of the metal window frame (not the inside wooden sill) ; a bit like going to the car wash and having them refuse to clean your roof or your tires. I strongly suggest you look for another company. Here are some more details. - The two team members showed up a half hour early at 7:30 am and rang the doorbell when the appointment was at 8 am. When I told them I would be ready for them at the appointed time, they told me if I was not, they would leave! - then when they came in the house, I asked to take them around to show them the various windows and what they needed to do in terms of particular access etc. The fellow was furious sand said? I don?t have time for this. I know how to do my job?. - When I saw them cleaning ,I saw they were not cleaning the base of the window frame ( not the inside sill) which was filthy. I also saw that they were not wiping the screens . When I asked them to do that they said they would charge $3.00 extra to wash the screens and that they don?t clean the bottom of the window frame! - Then upstairs, they were unwilling to clean a skylight window that has been cleaned every year ; and they were unwilling to use a ladder to clean a higher up window in the studio that has been cleaned every year. - When I saw all this, I called the office and asked to speak to the manager /owner who was clearly there , but I was told he was not and would have to call me back. When I called back, I did get to speak with him ,but I was sorry to have done so: instead of trying to reassure me , a long time customer, he started to insult me and say that I was the problem. Too bad that I want the window cleaning company to dust the screens and clean around the frame and clean the same windows they have cleaned in years past !He threatened to have his guys walk away from the job and not finish! -Then when the job was done they handed me a bill that was larger than the one the office had said the job would cost. It was only when I called the office again they the office manager said, no, it was a mistake and I should only pay what they had quoted me. - When the worker left, he said don?t call me to come back next year. I assured him I most certainly would not!
"Arlmont Glass replaced a broken living room window for me. First of all they will come to your home for a free estimate. Then will email the invoice for the job. Then you schedule the work. Three simple steps, everyone is polite and wonderful to do business with. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone or to use them again as my home has aging windows. Thank you for a job well done."
"Windows are high quality replacement windows. I had 14 windows replaced. Workmen knew what they were doing and answered all my questions. I would use them again."
"Juan washed the outside of our windows. He worked quickly, efficiently, and quietly, not needing anything from me. I have done my own windows for years and never got them looking so spotless."
"Excellent experience start to finish. Kenny responded to my inquiry right away, we set a date to come out and look at my windows and he arrived promptly on time. I have 2 large triangle shaped glass windows in my sun room - approximately 4' each and 8 - 12' off the floor - not an easy place to reach. Kenny took some measurements and quoted a price that was exactly in my budget. We set a date for the installation - due to our schedules he came out on a Saturday morning. He arrived on time with a helper. Everything went smooth and easy. I couldn't be happier - room is much cooler. Nice work!"

Window maintenance in Boston is crucial due to the city’s freeze-thaw cycles and coastal weather. Inspect caulking and weatherstripping each spring to prevent drafts, and lubricate hardware before winter. After storms or nor’easters, check for water intrusion and damaged seals. Homes near the harbor should watch for salt buildup, which can affect window frames and glass, so regular cleaning is especially important in those areas.

In Boston, window service projects can reveal hidden challenges like the need for specialized approvals in historic districts, or the discovery of lead paint and outdated insulation in older homes. Repairs to original brickwork or rotted sills often surface once old windows are removed. Weather-related delays and contractor parking permits are also common, so it’s wise to build flexibility into your project timeline and budget.
