"It went very smoothly from first contact through job execution. Some neighbors had recommended them as a previous contractor never did the fencing job he had promised. In the end, they were less costly and did a fantastic job."

Small jobs welcome

"Aurelio and his AML team were wonderful to work with. Their hard work, attention to detail and effort to accommodate all of our needs was greatly appreciated. They completed 8 projects: installed a new 18’ x 24’ patio with fire pit, replaced old steps with a beautiful new deck, replaced rotted siding with new siding, replaced garage roof, built a pergola with a swing, planted a Zen garden around the swing, built a 8’ x 60’ bocce court, built six 8’ x 4’ cedar raised garden beds and a beautiful fence to protect the garden. In addition, they did a complete yard clean up and installed mulched beds, cobble stone edging and pea stone paths. All this was accomplished in 13 days by a team of four that worked non-stop!! I wish I could publish before and after pictures because that is the only way to show the amazing transformation of our property. The quality of their carpentry was also top notch. Very highly recommended!!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Installing a fence in Boston offers immediate privacy, improved security, and a boost in curb appeal—key for city homes. Over time, a well-built fence can help lower yard maintenance, protect landscaping from wind, and contribute to property value appreciation. Quality fencing also reduces liability risks and can make outdoor spaces more enjoyable year-round, especially with Boston’s changing seasons.

Helpful?

In Boston, combining fencing with upgrades like privacy landscaping, outdoor lighting, or irrigation can streamline your project and minimize disruption. Coordinating with driveway or patio work can simplify permit applications and reduce labor overlap. Planning multiple improvements together, especially during milder spring or fall weather, may help secure discounts from local contractors and ensure a cohesive look for your property.

Helpful?

Be wary of quotes in Boston that are much lower than others, demand large upfront payments, or insist on cash-only deals. Avoid pros who skip site visits, provide vague details about materials, or don’t discuss permits. Lack of insurance, no written contract, and unrealistic project timelines are also warning signs. Trustworthy Boston fencing pros offer clear communication, local references, and demonstrate knowledge of city-specific requirements.

Helpful?

Boston homeowners should factor in local permit rules, fence height limits, and setback requirements, especially near historic areas. Consider how frost, snow, and salt air may affect materials and installation. Check for neighborhood association guidelines, be aware of “spite fence” restrictions, and confirm the location of underground utilities. Boston’s varied terrain may also require custom solutions for a secure, lasting fence.

Helpful?

When hiring a fencing pro in Boston, prioritize those with experience handling local soil and weather challenges, such as frost heave and salt exposure. Ensure they understand Boston’s permit process and historic district rules, especially for privacy fence installations. Ask about their approach to snow loads, review local project photos, verify insurance, and confirm they communicate clearly about timelines and neighborhood requirements.
