"Great customer service from Ben to the team that showed up. Showed up as scheduled, very friendly, efficient and easy to work with....Just basically pointed to what we needed to be removed and it was taken care of!"

Small jobs welcome

"Our experience with Energia was great. Mark in particular is incredibly knowledgeable about the work, and not once did we ever feel he was trying to push a product, other than what we needed. His ideas and suggestions were spot-on. The team of workers were professional and did a great job. Highly recommend."

"This site only allowed me to choose one category, but what Anthony did was SO much more. He and his team did a demolition of a kitchen and two bathrooms, then did the entire kitchen installation, including contractorsfor plumbingand electrical. Anthony was able to stay calm and collected during the most stressful times (shipping delays and manufacturing defects), We have already hired him again to inspect and clean the chimney. His work (and his work ethic) is excellent and I would recommend him to anyone!"

Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

In most states, handypeople do not need to be licensed to perform simple home repair tasks and smaller jobs. When projects exceed specific cost amounts, however, ranging from $500 in California to $50,000 in other states, some municipalities consider them to be contractors, meaning they need to be licensed. To learn if your handyperson should be licensed to work on your job, contact your local governing body or state contractors’ licensing board before starting any work.

After cutting Corian® to the right size, you may have to attach it to another piece of Corian®, either at a corner or another seam. One way to create the tightest seam is to place the two pieces of Corian® on a level surface at ⅜-inch apart. Run a router in between the two slabs to create an identical edge on both pieces. Then use the proper DuPont Joint Adhesive for your type of seam and countertop to join the Corian® together.

You can find a reliable handyperson by looking at professionals in your area and ruling out companies with poor reviews online. Next, check each handyperson on the Better Business Bureau to see if they have a history of complaints and rule out those that do. Finally, you can contact each handyperson to ask the following qualifying questions:

  • What is your hourly rate?

  • Are there any jobs you can’t tackle?

  • Are you fully insured?

  • How many years of experience do you have?

  • Do you have references I can contact?

Hiring a handyperson offers several benefits. They can save you time and hassle by completing tasks you may not have the time or experience to do yourself. A key advantage is ensuring the project is done correctly, which can prevent future issues and save money in the long run. For projects that pose safety risks, hiring an experienced professional is a much safer option. Additionally, handypeople are often more available for smaller jobs that larger contractors may not have the schedule for.

Many contractors prefer checks because they’re easy to track and have no associated fees. However, many also accept credit cards (though they might add a fee to cover their processing costs).
