Very reasonable price compared to local contractors. great cleanup, only waited a few days before work started. I definetly recommend this great company to anyone who needs landscaping, patio and walkway installation at a fair price. Will give out his card to anyone who needs this service. "SRS responded to my request for a quote by showing up that same day and sending me the quote by that evening. My husband and I changed the scope of the job and a new quote was sent right away. They accommodated our schedule and showed up promptly. Crew was very experienced and friendly. Silvio arrived the day after completion to make sure we were happy and told us "I am not going anywhere, call me if you have any issues or need anything." Outstanding service and our patio is beautiful!"

"We are extremely happy with the job Chris and co. did in replacing our old concrete walkway with bricks. They worked neatly and efficiently and Chris helped us see our vision clearly. He’s a great guy, and has very fair pricing. We hope to use him on a project in the future. Deb D Bedford"

"I chose Pave Tech after reading the many positive reviews that are posted online. Eddie and his crew did not disappoint! After my initial inquiry, Eddie stopped by, answered all of my questions, gave a fair price and provided an estimate of when he would be able to pave the driveway. On the day of the paving, the whole crew rolled in before 8:00 with all of the equipment. They quickly got to work excavating and then paving the driveway. Four hours later, they were done and on their way. The finished product looks great and I have no doubt is built to last. It was a pleasure working with Eddie, and I would certainly call on him again for future projects. I highly Recommend Pave Tech!"

"Masonworks recently took my small city patio from a mess of tree roots and uneven bricks to a smooth, sleek bluestone with a low fieldstone raised planting bed. They did beautiful work and were customer service-oriented throughout. The price was very fair - another company was asking almost twice as much - and everyone was a true professional focused on doing the job right. Because I'm home in quarantine, I watched them do the whole thing - they were very deliberate and careful and left the place as sparkling clean as an outdoor patio can get. In the past I had another company redo my patio and it was like night and day working with Masonworks. Great process, great outcome."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is possible to pave over an existing driveway, but whether it's the right choice depends on several factors. If the underlying structure of your current driveway is still strong, concrete or asphalt resurfacing can be a cost-effective way to prolong its life. However, if your driveway has significant issues like potholes, deep cracks, or other inconsistencies, it is best to remove the old driveway and start from scratch. Key factors to consider include the current driveway's condition, the compatibility of the new material, the added thickness and height, and the necessary surface preparation.

If you miss the perfect time frame to trowel finish concrete, you likely won’t get the smooth, flawless result you’re looking for. In this case, you should contact a concrete professional or look to methods like sanding, grinding, or patching once the concrete dries. These methods will ensure the best final result for the lowest cost.

If your driveway is cracked, you can repave it with a process called asphalt overlay. Overlay is more cost-effective than a full replacement but is better suited for minor cracks and issues. If you have major cracks or other problems like water pooling, asphalt overlay isn’t your best bet. Plus, paving over a cracked driveway only extends the lifetime by about 10 years, whereas replacing it would start the clock over completely to give you up to 30 years.

When asphalt cures, it typically changes from a very dark black hue to a lighter, more matte gray color. Cured asphalt also won’t be tacky or sticky to the touch or emit any odors from the asphalt mix. Additionally, the surface of fully cured asphalt won’t deform under any pressure.

The most common causes of sunken pavers are poor base preparation and insufficient compaction. The problem could also be how your pavers were installed. If the soil beneath your patio or walkway wasn't compacted, it will pull pavers down as it settles. Additionally, using bare soil instead of making a paver bed with compacted gravel and sand can cause sinking over time. To fix sunken pavers, consider recompacting the base and addressing any drainage or erosion issues in the area.
