Avoid financial disaster by purchasing a home inspection for your next property. A home inspection will protect you from unexpected costs due to workmanship mishaps on new homes and the multitude of hidden problems from older homes that can be found throughout all aspects of your potential new residential property. Ensuring that your home has been inspected will provide you with a comfort of knowing exactly what you are buying by understanding a properties condition beforehand. Potential buyers will be able to make an informed financial decision prior to that purchase, alleviating the stress of not knowing what issues you may potentially face. Recommended by real estate agents looking to sell homes on behalf of their owners or to inform clients potentially purchasing a property of its condition, it is certain that home inspection Pays compared to cost..

"Paul was very quick to respond to my initial request for a quote and followed up with me as well. He was very accommodating in scheduling the inspection and explained things in a way I could understand. He took his time throughout the house and examined everything and especially the areas of the home we mentioned that were concerning to us. One thing I noticed that I thought was very respectful and sweet was that he took his boots off to enter the home. That shows respect to the property owner as well as the home itself. We would recommend and hire again in a heartbeat. The report came back within 24 hours as promised and was very detailed including easy to understand pictures, summary, and even a video."

Corner-2-Corner began its operations in June of 2015 to provide a quality product, confidence and trust in home inspections. Our exceptionally skilled employee possess years of combined experience with various backgrounds and skill sets. Quality service and consistent availability is imperative to the success of our clients. We promise to always provide value and outstanding service, regardless of size of inspection. Inspection Preparation Prior to your inspection, make sure that the following items are operable: Utilities – Water, Electricity, and Gas should all be on at the time of inspection. Doors – All exterior and interior doors should be unlocked and accessible. Attic – Remove any stored items which could restrict or hinder access to the attic. Gas Appliances – Be sure all heating systems and water heaters are operational. Pilot lights should always be lit. If pilot lights are not lit and/or valves are off, the inspector will be unable to properly inspect the operation of the appliances they serve. These preparations will make the process easier for the inspector and less time consuming and disruptive for you.

"Mr. Picou was incredible as an Home Inspection instructor for my required Platform Training. Through his level of knowledge and ease of explaining different discrepancies commonly found during inspections, it was evident of his Experience in the field. The materials of study, his polite and down-to-earth attitude, and overall "Good Person" vibes made it comfortable and interesting in regards to asking questions about anything I had on mind. I was treated to lunch and he stocked up on snacks to get us through the 3 Day course.I would definitely rate him a 5/5 Rating A+ Appreciate you Jean! Peace & thanks for being influential in my studies for my business! Paul K. (BETR Home Inspection,LLC)"

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

The three main types of home inspections you should always carry out for new construction include a pre-drywall inspection, a post-drywall inspection, and a one-year inspection. The pre-drywall inspection can identify building code violations, issues with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC components, and structural issues. The post-drywall inspection can identify damaged building materials, insufficient insulation, and more. An inspection at the one-year mark after construction will identify problems your builder must fix under their comprehensive one-year warranty.

If you see rust spots or streaks or any physical damage to the chimney cap from the ground, you should hire a professional to inspect and replace it. If it’s safe to get up on your roof or near your chimney cap with a ladder, you can perform a closer inspection to identify issues. Additionally, if you know your chimney cap is nearing the end of its life—usually five to ten years—or you’re seeing evidence of water damage or pest infestation in your chimney, it’s a good idea to replace the cap.

While a hygrometer is the most accurate tool for measuring humidity levels in the home, you can gauge humidity levels using simpler methods. One way is by observing signs like condensation on windows or feeling excessively sticky or clammy indoors, indicating higher humidity. Another DIY approach involves the “hair method”—aka placing a few strands of human hair in a closed container with salt for several hours. If the hair becomes limp, it's likely due to high humidity. These methods offer rough estimations, but lack the precision of a hygrometer for accurate readings.

Gaps in new construction are common and typically not a cause for concern. New homes experience settling during the first one to two years as the foundation adjusts and building materials acclimate. Monitor gaps during this period and address them once settling stabilizes to avoid repeated repairs.

It’s a good idea to conduct a DIY attic inspection at least once a year to look for signs of water damage, pest infestation, and damage to the underside of the roof decking. If you suspect any problems, call in a professional to confirm and come up with a solution. You should also hire a pro to inspect an attic before purchasing a home, and you can have an inspection done as a seller to entice buyers to move forward with an offer or purchase.
